The executive secretary, Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA), Abdulkadir Saidu, says the federal government has no plans to increases the price of Premium Motor Spirit known as petrol.

Saidu reinstated in a statement on Tuesday, December 11, in Abuja that the retail price of petrol remained at the subsisting price cap of N145 per litre.

He urged Nigerians to ignore the growing speculation on the purported imminent increase in the pump price.

The executive secretary advised marketers to ensure that there was no price distortion in their respective retail outlets.

He added that PPPRA would continue to carry out its oversight function of monitoring exercise in depots and in all filling stations across the country.

This, he said, was to ensure adherence to the regulated price and to nip in the bud other forms of sharp practices at retail outlets.

The executive secretary further warned that adequate sanctions awaited any erring filling station.

He commended the petroleum product marketers in the country for embracing dialogue with the federal government to resolve the issues arising from payment of the outstanding fuel subsidy claims.

Saidu said that embarking on strike was not always the best option to address any industrial dispute, irrespective of the circumstances adding that the multiplier effects were always too much to bear.

The executive secretary appealed to the leadership of the oil marketers’ associations to cooperate with government to find a workable solution to the issues emanating from the payment of subsidy arrears.

He noted that PPPRA would continue to support, cooperate and collaborate with marketers to ensure conducive industrial climate where the best of the oil and gas sector could be showcased.

Saidu also assured Nigerians of PPPRA’s total commitment to service delivery and uninterrupted petroleum product supply and distribution especially during this festive period and beyond.

He appealed to motorists and other PMS consumers to desist from panic-buying, as PPPRA was working hard with other agencies of government to ensure adequate supply and distribution of petroleum products nationwide.

In a previous report by Legit.ng, the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) and the Nigerian Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) have said that their members would not go on strike over the threat by depot owners to shut down their services over outstanding subsidy claims.

In a joint statement by their presidents, Comrade Francis Johnson and Willians Akporeha, in Abuja at the weekend, the unions said it had been assured by the federal government that the first part of the debt payment owed the marketers would be made by December 14.

The leadership of NUPENG and PENGASSAN has resolved to hold down on taking any action on the issues to allow the government to fulfill its pledge.

Spanish League giants Barcelona are reportedly planning to sign Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany on a free transfer next summer.

The 32-year-old's current deal with the Citizens expires at the end of the ongoing season but the chance for him to extend his star is yet to be confirmed by the two parties.

It is becoming difficult for states to meet financial burdens - Governor Bello reveals new plans

$

- Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello says it is increasingly becoming difficult for states because of declining revenue

- Governor Bello predicts that in few years, states may not be able to pay salaries and pensions because of heavy reliance on federal allocation

- He explains what his government is doing to beat the foreseeable challenge

The governor of Niger state, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello, late Monday, December 10, expressed fear that in the next few years, Nigerian states will no longer be able to survive by just relying on allocations from the federal government alone.

Governor Bello said as a result, it would become very difficult for the states to meet their basic responsibilities like payment of salaries and pensions.

The governor, who had a media chat with journalists, said without coming up with ideas that would boost internally-generated revenue, it would become very difficult for states to meet this obligation by relying on the Federal Allocation Commission (FAAC).

READ ALSO: NAIJ.com upgrades to Legit.ng: a letter from our Editor-in-Chief Bayo Olupohunda

According to him, this prediction applies to even oil-producing states.

He disclosed that revenues to states have continued to decline and to beat this would-be challenge, he has continued to focus on areas that would help to make the state financially independent.

“From what we are seeing, I have a strong feeling that we are almost reaching the end of the era when states would survive on their FAAC allocations. And the earlier we realize and accept this, the better. Even the oil-producing states.

“People are relying on state allocations from FAAC, but with what I have seen so far, in the next few years, most of the states, if not all, will not be able to pay salaries.

“As I speak right now, our pension bill increases every quarter and the revenues are not increasing. As a matter of cat, the revenues are declining. So among the many things that need to be done, I am more concerned about placing the state in a financially stable environment,” the Bello said adding that his administration met a lot of abandoned projects in 2015 which it had to focus on completing since government is a continuum.

For example, he said when he became governor, it was discovered that in some schools in Niger state, children sat on the bare floor, in some communities, pupils had to trek long kilometers to their learning centre while two local government areas were without electricity supply.

PAY ATTENTION: Download our mobile app to enjoy the latest news updates

He said many of these challenges have been resolved even though more needs to be done.

Asked how his administration has been able to curb issues with security, he said the state liaises with communities which makes information sharing easy. He also said the state has a task force that helps to ensure peace.

He further said activities around the borders with Kaduna and Zamfara are closely monitored.

He said having achieved success in his first term, he would concentrate his second term on three key areas including education, infrastructure and youth and women empowerment.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Governor Abubakar Sani-Bello recently assured Nigerians that they will not regret re-electing President Buhari into power in 2019.

He said President Buhari's re-election into presidency in 2019 will help stabilise Nigeria's economy.

Buhari writes Senate on why he rejected Electoral amendment bill

- President Buhari has explained to the Senate why he declined assent to the electoral amendment bill

- According to him, any real or apparent change to the rules this close to the election may provide an opportunity for disruption and confusion

- He said his action was in the best interest of the country and its democracy

President Muhammadu Buhari has written to the Nigerian Senate on his decision to decline assent to the electoral amendment bill, 2018.

According to the president, signing the bill will, “create some uncertainty about the applicable legislation to govern the process.”

The letter was read by Senate president, Bukola Saraki, during plenary on Tuesday, December 11.

READ ALSO: NAIJ.com upgrades to Legit.ng: a letter from our Editor-in-Chief Bayo Olupohunda

Part of the letter read: “I am declining assent to the Bill principally because I am concerned that passing a new electoral bill this far into the electoral process for the 2019 general elections, which commenced under the 2015 Electoral Act, could create some uncertainty about the applicable legislation to govern the process.

“Any real or apparent change to the rules this close to the election may provide an opportunity for disruption and confusion in respect of which law governs the electoral process.

“This leads me to believe that it is in the best interest of the country and our democracy for the National Assembly to specifically state in the Bill, that the Electoral Act will come into effect and be applicable to elections commencing after the 2019 general elections.

“It is also important for the following drafting amendments to be made to the bill:

“a. Section 5 of the bill, amending section 18 of the principal act should indicate the subsection to which the substitution of the figure ’30” for the figure “60” is to be effected.

“b. Section 11 of the bill, amending Section 36 should indicate the subsection in which the provision is to be introduced.”

READ ALSO: NAIJ.com upgrades to Legit.ng: a letter from our Editor-in-Chief Bayo Olupohunda

President Muhammadu Buhari had last week, for the fourth time withheld his assent to the amendment bill, citing legal drafting errors.

Meanwhile, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, representing Delta central, has said the ECOWAS protocol on democracy and good governance forbids President Buhari from signing the Electoral Act (Amendment) Bill.

According to him, Article 2 of the protocol forbids member countries from making “substantial modification” to their electoral laws less than six months to elections “except with the consent of a majority of political actors.”

Omo-Agege, who is a staunch supporter of the president, noted that with the elections less than three months away, signing the bill would violate the ECOWAS instrument.

- A retired police commissioner, Lawrence Alobi, has advised the federal government to put more watch on the county’s borders

- Aloba lamented the porousity of the Nigerian borders, adding that insurgents will reduce if FG strengthens the borders

- He also said existing rivalry among security operatives also contributed to low commitment on anti-insurgency operation

Lawrence Alobi, a retired commissioner of police, has called on the federal government to strengthen the country`s borders to check the influx of terrorists from neighbouring countries.

Alobi told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Tuesday, December 11, that the insurgents, who had been a threat to the well-being of Nigerians, gained access to the country through its porous borders.

He said: “It is believed that they navigate through the borders, the federal government should strengthen security at our borders to make sure they don’t have any access.”

Legit.ng gathers that the former commissioner said that the insurgents did not come by air but by road, adding that if the whole area was condoned and bombarded, their number would be reduced.

He added: “The insurgents have declared war on Nigeria, it is no longer a joke, we should also declare total war on them.”

He said that every Nigerian had a duty under the section 24 of the 1999 constitution, as amended to defend the country and render national service as might be required.

He said: “Nigerians should say no to Boko Haram, insecurity and electoral violence as the 2019 general elections is fast approaching.

“It is only when the country is safe and secure that we can go about our lawful business.”

He said that the existing rivalry among security agencies in the country was a threat to security of the country.

Alobi noted that until this was done away with, no reasonable result would be achieved in the fight against insurgency in the country.

The former commissioner also called on the security agencies to put away pride, unite and fight the common enemy.

Contemporary political problems in Nigeria: what are they?

First, we should list some good things about Nigeria and its development. Our country is considered one of Africa’s giants when it comes to industry, and a lot of wealthy people are making their investments in the industrial sphere. Also, Nigeria has always been known for good soil, which contributes to the successes in agriculture. The country has good weather and almost no natural disasters, as the floods are caused by human intervention. The small changes are made every day to make our country a developed place to live, as Nigerian people are very hardworking and dedicated.

Still, there are a lot of issues on the political and social arena, and for so many years, people are unaware of the possible solutions, and the situation remains the same. Small improvements are made every day to improve the life of Nigerians, but there are still so many things that should be taken into consideration. The diversity of Nigeria politics is not always helping, because every politician has different opinions on what should be done to restore the country. Today, we will talk about the political problems in Nigeria and how it is possibly to best solve them.

1. Corruption

It is not news to everyone that our country has been notorious as one of the most corrupted countries in the world. The majority of Nigerian politicians are known for their corrupt deeds, as the statistics say the 70% corruption practices come from this branch of society. The governmental officials often put the funds that belong to the public on the foreign bank accounts. The private citizens are known to help out in the process of money laundering. On top of everything else, the politicians hide billions of naira under different names, in order for the society to stay unaware of their money-stealing practices. Corruption also blossoms in the law and police force, to the point that the citizens no longer trust these branches with their safety.

This problem is one of the foundations of the general political crisis in Nigeria. This is because corruption has the potential to leak into various settings and pose a threat to all the political institutions, economic sectors, and other spheres of life. And the government, which is supposed to be protective of the citizens and be the highest branch of society that solves all the problems, is the most involved in the existence of corruption.

2. Kidnapping

If we think of the possible solutions, apparently the number one would be the complete reorientation of society. The educational system plays a huge role in this, and the government also needs to be more trustworthy and influential.

3. Oil and gas industry

Even though the industry sector in Nigeria was always known for its numerous resources, there are still issues connected with that, which contribute to the overall political crisis in Nigeria.

This is not a far-fetched problem, and it can be easily linked to the political life of Nigeria. It is suspected that so many politicians gain huge profit from the oil and gas sector. For instance, there was a Subsidy removal story, which resulted in the national scarcity of fuel.

4. Boko Haram terrorist group

The neglect of the state by the officially ranked figures left us another problem – the attacks of the terrorist group Boko Haram. The Boko Haram terrorists decline everything Western and want their ideology to thrive.

The actions of this violent group are such a problem to the Nigerian society due to the neglect and mismanagement of the country by the political leaders of Nigeria. So many studies that were carried out on the Boko Haram activity in the country suggest that their rise is a consequence of state leaders neglecting the current state of events, and depriving a big part of the population. There are many other factors that contribute to the terrorist movement in Nigeria, some of which are the injustices, poverty, class inequality, the failure of social services and more.

One of the possible solutions could be learning from past mistakes and stopping the neglect of the country. All the sectors should be taken into account because the mismanagement of some of them might lead to the surfacing of new problems, which could pose danger to the safety and life of regular citizens.

5. God-fatherism

Many people who venture into politics would look for their “godfathers” as the first move in their political career. This is a term for looking for a person who would be your career patron and push you towards acquiring the higher political position. A lot of politicians seem to be forgetting that Nigeria is a democratic state, and the government should depend entirely on the choices of Nigerian citizens, which they have a chance to make through the means of the independent elections.

“God-fatherism” is a political sponsorship based on manipulation and imposing of someone’s agenda on other politicians.

What is the paradox here is that the “godfathers” usually do not share God’s core values and are following the ideology of mostly corrupt political parties. This phenomenon has been dividing Nigeria and acting as a toxic part of its political life. The solution that can be proposed to gradually resolve this issue is to to promote the parties by people who are trustworthy and sincere and would remain loyal to the Nigerian citizens, unlike those contemporary parties who are known to obey their “godfathers”.

6. Tribalism

Tribalism is a cause of so many major problems in Nigeria, including the political differences, civil wars, human losses, and blindness during elections, which means that the citizens vote not because of the political capabilities of the candidate, but tribalism.

This problem has always been the root of all the other issues in the country, and nowadays, people are tribally biased for or against people who come from the same or different background as them. It often leads to inter tribal conflicts and deaths because people do not agree on religion, political views, cultural views or anything else.

Tribalism is also a large problem in the political sector, as people mostly vote based on their tribes. In the situation when the person commits a mistake, it is forgiven by people of their tribe, but viewed as the worst crime by people from another one. This psychology is really divisive and does not do anything good for the Nigerian people.

Embracing diversity, even if it is very hard, would be the first step on the way to combating tribalism. The Nigerian people need to work out their differences and think of themselves as a whole, instead of identifying solely as their tribe. Surely, you do not have to forget your cultural heritage, but using it as a reason for starting hate conflicts is unacceptable, and thinking that you can not get along with people of other tribes is a toxic mindset since we are all people with a common goal – making our lives better.

7. Nigerian youth and their political inactivity

In general, Nigerian young people are very active and dynamic, and they participate in basically every field of life, except politics. So many young people just accept politics as something that has been the same for many years, and it is not possible for the system to be changed, especially by the youngsters whose voices are often overlooked and not taken too seriously. The young people also feel like it is not worth to start the political career and expose yourself to all the dangers and threats that it can come with.

There are plenty of other problems with young people, aside from their lack of political awareness and activity. The rate of unemployment among the youth is extremely high, and the general attitude of the government towards giving youngsters actual jobs shows that this trend will continue in the nearest future.

The biggest question nowadays is: when will the elderly people let the youth take the country in their own hands? And when will the young people also wake up and realize their voices can be heard? It would probably change things for the better if youngsters were not afraid to participate in political life of Nigeria.

8. The Nigerian media

As you may know, the media is a large part of a democratic society. The primary obligation of the journalists who work for these media outlets is to praise these leaders and show their opponents in a bad light, and this really distorts the accuracy of all the political news that the Nigerians read every day. All the important details are overlooked, and people have to process the generalized information and make their own conclusions out of something that is not particularly true.

There is also an issue of “brown envelope”, which is very close to the problems we described above. This problem is based on the political leaders or their representatives paying the journalists a good amount of money in order to write articles where they cover up all the negative things they did and represent them only in a positive light.

So, what is the solution here? The possible way out that could potentially beat this problem is professionalism. This means that the Nigerian Union of Journalists needs to remember their role in the journalistic standards. Among these are the common standards for the owners of media houses and the proper dissemination of information to the society.

9. Religions

Nigeria is one of those countries where different religions are spread all over the state. It is quite natural, considering how Nigeria consists of so many different cultures and is the most populated country on the African continent. There are various religions, but some of the most widespread are, obviously, Christianity and Islam, as well as the African traditional religion.

The issue with religion is that people of the major religion fight each other for the power, and people vote for the candidates based on the religion, instead of voting for what this or that candidate could bring to the society, their strategy and political capabilities. This really divides people and makes them feel separated from each other because of their religious differences, instead of being a part of the same country and having the same core values.

The solution to this issue that would be the most promising is the complete reorientation of society. The politically elected leaders cannot enforce their religion on any aspect of the nation and state. If people remember this and vote based on the individual abilities of the candidate, instead of taking their religion and tribe into account, then there is a chance of selecting the most qualified person to rule the country.

Religion in Nigeria

10. Nigerian citizens

People of Nigeria are their own major problem in so many ways. First of all, there is a very huge percent of Nigerian citizens who have given up on the political life of the country a long time ago. They do not participate in any electoral processes and usually have no opinions about the candidates or general political condition in the country. Quite often, during the elections, people just travel to their native towns instead of voting and refuse to participate in the national electoral process.

To this day, there are many Nigerians who meet all the eligibility criteria for voting but have no desire to directly take part. They think that their vote will not matter, and leave it to the others who are more aware of the current political state. These similar behaviors are not helping the development of Nigeria, as so many people refuse for their voice and concerns to be heard for a variety of reasons.

There is one interesting question that bothers the minds of many Nigerians. Who was the first governor of Benue State? Since we already know the answer which can surprise you, it is time to devote our new post to this historical inquiry.

Who was the first governor of Benue State?

Benue State on the map; photo: wikipedia.org

The government of Benue State

Benue State had had 16 governors so far since the 1970s when it was officially formed into a separate district from the Benue-Plateau State. It is curious to learn more about the first in the history of Benue State governor. Are you ready to discover some interesting facts?

It is possible to look at Benue State government from two points of view when we want to name who was the first governor of this territory in Nigeria.

Well, the history of Benue State can be easily divided into two major parts. The first part of its development is under the military rule. The second part started under democratic government. And each period, as you might have already guessed, has its own ‘first governor of Benue State.’

The old Benue-Plateau State was officially divided into two separate state on February 3rd, 1976.

First Benue State governor during the military period

If you wish to know who was the first governor of Benue State during the military regime, his name is Abdullahi Shelleng. He was born in 1942.

Abdullahi Shelleng was the first governor of Benue State for 2 years, from 1976 to 1978. Back at those times, the country was under the military government with the leader Olusegun Obasanjo.

Critics who judge the 1976-1978 changes in the new state believe that the military governor didn’t pay much attention to the current problems and he chose to offer temporary solutions instead of building something like roads for the future generations.

The first governor of Benue State in a democratic regime

Since many people look separately at the military and democratic history of Nigeria, we should shortly mention the name of the first democratic governor of Benue State. This was George Akume who took this important position as a representative of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from 1999 and till 2007.

This first non-military Benue State government began the new history of the state. Besides, George Akume is also the first ever leader of this state to successfully complete 2 terms in office. George Akume was also elected as the Senator twice, in 2011 and 2015.

5 Nigerian celebrities rumoured to have undergone plastic surgery in 2018

The year 2018 has witnessed a lot of trends come into play and one of the most alarming and controversial ones is celebrities going under the knife.

Although it has been considered an abominable act by some celebs who feel people who carry out cosmetic surgeries on themselves have self-esteem issues, this opinion has done nothing to stop some from doing it.

These days, almost everyone either loves a very curvaceous body or wants to have curves like that and thus, this has pushed quite a few into altering their bodies. While some are opened about it, others have rather kept mum about it.

READ ALSO: Personal letter from the Editor-in-Chief of Legit.ng (former NAIJ.com)

Legit.ng has gathered a list of 5 Nigerian celebs rumoured to have altered their bodies via surgery:

1. Toke Makinwa

The controversial OAP whose fashionista lifestyle and extreme transformation over the years has continued to amaze people. Ever since her divorce, the fashion mogul and 'baby geh' president never misses an opportunity to let the world know she's having the time of her life.

She left tongues wagging after photos of her looking really 'thick' around her backside, surfaced online. Although many people believe she went under the knife, she is yet to speak on the issue.

2. Dabota Lawson

The former beauty queen who has got one of the most influential beauty empires in Nigeria is another one rumoured to have gone under the knife.

After her divorce from billionaire businessman, Sunny Aku, two years into their marriage, Lawson seems to be all about the sweet life. A while ago, she left people suspicious after she showed off her backside while posing between two Bentley Bentayga. The size of her derriere got people surprised at the sudden transformation.

3. Tonto Dikeh

The Nollywood actress and philanthropist is one of the bold celebrities who have been very vocal about her surgery. Prior to having the surgery, she had made it known her decision to go under the knife and even air it on a reality show.

Dikeh, ever since the surgery, never misses her opportunity to talk about her newly purchased curves and has also revealed she intends to carry out another one.

4. Iyabo Ojo

The Nollywood actress and businesswoman is also another celebrity who was rumoured to have undergone cosmetic surgery: a tummy tuck to be precise.

Although the Yoruba actress never came out to address the rumours, a source close to the actress claimed that she went for corrective cosmetic surgery in Istanbul Turkey. However, it almost cost the actress her life.

According to the source: "Iyabo passed out after the surgery and fell into coma for five days! It was horrible! Friends and some colleagues in the know started praying for her recovery. But God intervened and she came to. Thank God she didn’t die. It was a tummy tuck she had” .

5. Bobrisky

The popular Nigerian cross dresser continues to leave jaws hanging with his rapid transformation. What was once assumed to be just a man wearing makeup has turned into a man with some rather feminine developments.

In recent photos shared on his social media, not only does the Nigerian male barbie now have an ample bosom but an equally eye catching backside. This has made many people speculate that he too, may have undergone plastic surgery.

With the trend of Nigerian celebs undergoing plastic surgery reportedly less expensive, it appears this is one trend that doesn't look like it will go away soon. 2018 may have witnessed a lot of celebs doing daring things but it appears 2019 holds promises of even more to come.

Learn to sing better with these professional tips for men

$

0

Is there a universal recipe to learn how to sing better if you are a man and not sure what to do with your voice? There are certain useful tips which may be very helpful when it comes to beautiful singing with a male voice with all its specific features and peculiarities. Below, you will find several recommendations that will help you sing better.

singing guy

The first of the singing trick for guys

The very first trick a singing man should do is discover his vocal range. What is it? The vocal range of a certain voice is determined by the gap between the highest note a person can sing and the lowest one. It’s very important that these notes should be sang in comfortable condition, without overloading one’s voice. Comfortable singing also means singing without yelling, shouting, screaming, and also without turning one’s voice into a falsetto.

As well, it’s said that you need to be able to hold a certain note for no less than 15 seconds to say that you can sing it. So, the lowest and the highest notes that you can sing this way will determine your vocal range.

The second singing trick for guys

This trick is to choose a genre in which you can sing. The best singers are able to sing in practically all genres or, at least, in most of them. The more genres you master, the better singer with a better future in music you will be. The point is that you need to master your voice perfectly to be able to sing diverse genres.

In most cases, it doesn’t matter if you are going to perform in a specific genre like rap that doesn’t demand much singing. If you want to be a good artist with a diverse discography that’s interesting to a wide audience, if you want to surprise your fans pleasantly, you need to be able to sing in at least one of the more or less classical genres.

If you don’t know where to start, try country music first. It’s quite melodic and its tempo is not that fast as in, for instance, pop songs. Sometimes, blues are great to start with and eventually you may master faster tempos and learn how to sing better in different styles.

The third singing tip for men

man singing

At this point, you need to choose songs that are suitable to you right now and right here. Men have less flexible voices than women in most cases but they are deeper. If only you don’t have a very high-pitched voice like a female one, you should choose the songs that show the beauty of your manly voice and all its specific features.

If you feel that you can’t sing a certain song, you should not worry. Choose the ones that you can sing now and practice on them. Eventually, you will be able to try to sing the ones that are more complicated. If you can’t sing something, you shouldn’t worry because even the most recognized singers are not always able to sing whatever song they choose.

The fourth singing tip for men

Breathing control involves the control of muscles inside your throat and your palate because they all let the air through in a specific way. The better your breathing control is, the more genres and styles you will be able to sing. Together with it, you should learn more other singing techniques that will help you make your performance diverse.

If you are into becoming a good singer, you need to learn how to sing better if you are standing and if you are sitting, if you are performing on stage or if you are quietly singing in a cozy room. After you learn how to breathe, you will need to learn how to relax after an intensive singing session.

You need to know that breathing through your abdomen instead of simply breathing through the chest will improve your singing very much. Start with learning to breathe in such a way that your abdomen expands at the moment you inhale and then push the air out through the throat in a completely controlled way. Use a mirror to see whether your Adam’s apple moves when you sing. If it does, you need more breathing control.

The fifth tip on how to learn to sing better for guys

Don’t ignore vocal exercising. There’s a range of classic exercises you can find on the Web and practice as an imminent part of your regular singing classes, whether you learn to sing at a special school or on your own.

The exercises usually include practicing scales (ascending and descending), rhythm, tempo, staccato, and other useful things. It’s very important to practice within your starting vocal range. With time and work and practice, it will expand surely but now, when you still need training, you shouldn’t even try to take those notes that are beyond your vocal range. It can ruin your voice.

The sixth tip for men

Together with your singing, you need to improve your listening. The more you listen to other professionals, the more you learn from their style of singing. Unlike singing, you can always listen to everything you like even if those styles and genres are beyond your own comfortable zone. Listen carefully to how other renowned singers perform and you will be able to take something from their expressions, intonations, the way they modulate their voice, and so on.

If you want to be a good popular singer, you don’t need to be someone else. You must be yourself with your own voice, your own manner, your own style. Still, it doesn’t mean that you can’t learn the techniques other singers show and use.

The seventh tip for good singing for guys

Keep your body healthy for a better voice. It’s hard to believe but if you really want to be a good singer, you will need a good health and a trained body. The younger and healthier your body is, the clearer and younger your voice will be. It’s very important because it’s a sad picture when young prospective singers lose their wonderful voices due to an unhealthy lifestyle and quick ageing.

Keeping healthy means quitting to smoking. It’s very important because the hot smoke and tars have an ability to spoil your larynx and change your voice making it harsh and unpleasant to listen. Besides that, smoking weakens your lungs and you can run out of breath quite quickly.

If you watch stage performers, you may notice how active they are while on stage. Live performances last for hours and this all requires a strong trained body. It’s great if you practice sports like jogging, biking, swimming. You need an even constant load on the body without any risks of getting injured. The fast deep breathing these sports include can develop your lungs, too.

The eighth tip for singing better for guys

man singing

You should practice every day. If you are not ill and feel normal, practice singing every single day. Athletes train every day to become as skilled and proficient as possible. Painters and writers do at least a little every day to progress and master more skills, discover new horizons. If you want to succeed, you need to be hardworking, devoted, and keep on practicing.

Practice is a great thing if you suffer from stage panic and are still afraid of singing in front of a big audience.

These tips will not help you sing better instantly, they are useful when applied regularly. In a while, you will become a trained and skilled singer with a flexible voice and great techniques.
