The best food list for bodybuilders

$
0
0

Nutrition is a metabolic regulator in the body. Have you heard about this? Quantity and quality of food depend on your physical and mental tone, the level of hormones in the blood and even the level of intelligence. Proper nutrition in bodybuilding is even more important because you need food that will grow your muscles. So let`s consider the bodybuilding food list.

Bodybuilding food

A healthy body with increased muscles cannot be obtained by doing only physical exercises. If you want to achieve the bodybuilder, you have to lead an appropriate lifestyle, which includes daily workouts and of course, proper nutrition. The right diet of a beginner athlete is a difficult task that requires a lot of money because quality products have never been cheap. Read below, and you will know about bodybuilding food and rules of proper nutrition.

Food list for bodybuilding

Training in the gym will be effective only when combined with proper nutrition. The primary goal of a beginner bodybuilder is to build lean muscle mass, and not to lose weight. During the first month and a half of training, you should completely abandon some prohibited products including:

  • carbonated drinks;
  • semi-finished products;
  • white flour products;
  • smoked meat;
  • confectionery;
  • fatty food;
  • sausages;
  • jams;
  • pickles.
Forbidden food

READ ALSO: Best fruits for weight loss in Nigeria

Most of the products listed are simple carbohydrates. They are the worst enemies of the athlete, and any person indeed. They are quickly processed in the body, turning into body fat. The second part of the described products retains water in the body, due to the excessive content of salt and chemical additives.

You must eat protein foods. Protein should be the basis of your diet. It promotes muscle building. Here are protein foods that must always be present in the menu:

  • chicken eggs;
  • veal;
  • chicken fillet;
  • seafood;
  • white fish;
  • salmon;
  • legumes;
  • cottage cheese.
Healthy food

It is important! The bodybuilder’s daily diet should include half of the protein, another 30% of carbohydrate, and 20% of fat. Carbohydrates should be complex, for example:

  • cereals, best buckwheat, and oatmeal, but rice and semolina should be excluded;
  • pasta from durum wheat;
  • greenery;
  • zucchini;
  • tomatoes;
  • cucumbers;
  • wholemeal bran bread;
  • apples.

It is better to give preference to vegetable oils, for example, olive, flax or sunflower. Their sources can also be nuts, some varieties of fish.

Accustom yourself to fractional nutrition. It is better to eat more often but in smaller portions. During the day you should eat at least 5- 6 meals. It is mistaken that eating after six in the evening is forbidden. Such a restriction will only impede the gain of muscle mass. You need to drink a protein shake or eat a pack of cottage cheese an hour before going to bed.

Protein food

Carbohydrate foods should be concentrated in the first half of the day. The second one must be saturated with proteins.

Water is the second fundamental component of bodybuilding nutrition after carbohydrates. Dehydrated muscles will not grow. It happens that the state of dehydration is hidden and does not manifest itself.

Drink 3 cups of water and watch yourself. If within one and a half hours you do not want to go to the toilet, you have hidden dehydration. It is usually a symptom of the disease, so you need to go to the doctor.

A bodybuilder should drink at least 3.5 litres of fluid per day. Such a quantity of water will provide water for muscle tissues. If you feel thirsty, then drink in excess. If usually to quench your thirst, you take one glass of water, now drink two glasses.

All dishes can be cooked:

  • on the grill;
  • in the oven;
  • on the steam or boil.

Give up the habit of eating fried food. The dish is not inferior in taste if it is cooked on the grill or baked in the oven, but the fat content in it is significantly reduced.

Food for weight growing

Bodybuilder's day menu

A standard meal plan including breakfast in the morning, lunch and dinner in the afternoon, is not for a bodybuilder. The break between meals will be too long in this case. You will have plenty of time to get hungry, and this is a sign that your body began to receive energy from its additional sources.

Firstly, your body begins to produce the hormone cortisol, and it “burns” your muscles to support the body’s decreasing energy.

Secondly, the body begins to use pre-stored carbohydrates in the liver and muscles. It is bad. You lose muscle mass, which you build up with much efforts, and reduce glycogen stores. Availability of these reserves determines the intensity of your regular workout — the more glycogen accumulated by your liver and muscles, the more intense and longer your training will be.

You need to eat 6 times a day but in small portions. The interval between meals should be minimal. During all this time the body needs glucose, which penetrates the blood through the intestinal walls. Sugar stores remain intact, and there is no need for cortisol secretion.

How to eat properly?

READ ALSO: Benefits of cloves for weight loss and cellulite treatment

It is better to ask for the help of a specialist in drawing up the right menu of a bodybuilder. But if there is no such possibility for several reasons, we offer an approximate diet for the day.

First breakfast:

  • buckwheat porridge 100 g;
  • three boiled eggs;
  • an apple.

Second breakfast:

  • veal 200 g;
  • oatmeal 100 g;
  • vegetables 300 - 400 g

Afternoon snack:

  • protein shake.

First dinner:

  • durum macaroni 100 g;
  • fish 200 g;
  • vegetables 200 g.

Evening snack:

  • protein shake.

Second dinner, before going bed:

  • low-fat cottage cheese 200 g or casein protein.
Bodybuilding diet

Sports supplements as additional nutrition

Sports nutrition will be useful along with a well-formed bodybuilding diet. The market is large for such additives, that offers lure for beginner bodybuilders. They demonstrate the mega results from their use. Indeed, there are bars, pills, cocktails, powders. How can you choose the really necessary supplement that will not only empties your wallet?

Protein is a major supplement that promotes muscle gain. General advice on taking is 3–4 times in one portion, in an amount of 20–30 g. The maximum allowable single portion is 40 g. But it is still better to ask a doctor, who determines the required amount of protein for you.

Gainer is also a protein, but with the addition of a small amount of carbohydrates. It is believed that such a compound allows better digestion of the protein. Gainer will help replenish energy reserves, after an intense workout and, at the same time, it stimulates muscle growth.

You should include vitamin and mineral in sports nutrition. As a rule, vitamins that come with food are not enough. It is considered that one of the main elements for gaining muscle mass is retinol. It accelerates metabolic processes and helps the absorption of protein. Vitamin A is also responsible for the development and growth of cells, improves vision, and reproductive function. As a rule, retinol is included in every vitamin complex for bodybuilders.

Protein powder and pills

Vitamin B1 or thiamine is responsible for the redox processes in the body. If this vitamin is not enough, it leads to poor digestibility of products and entails a loss of muscle mass. You should also not forget about amino acids. They are also important for bodybuilders.

Cardioprotectors will not be redundant for the bodybuilder, especially in the hot season. Taking them before a workout will increase endurance and help maintain a healthy cardiovascular system.

Chondroprotectors will strengthen the locomotor system. Workouts gradually destroy the cartilage tissue, so it needs additional “nourishment,” which is the chondroprotectors.

Nutritional supplements can significantly improve your results. But you should remember their ration, combined with a correctly composed diet and workouts. Of course, it is not necessary to expect a miracle from them, since concentrated protein is derived from ordinary products. Therefore, you always have the choice to use it in powder form or the form of hard food, but to get them from natural products. The main thing is that the amount of each element entering the body is correct, but not in what form it will get there.

Cardioprotectors and chondroprotectors

Having decided to take your own body seriously, do not forget that results can be achieved only with hard, daily work. Bodybuilder`s nutrition is an integral part of training. There is no sense in exhausting yourself with physical exercise and deviating from the generally accepted rules of nutrition. You reduce your efforts to zero.. After a month a certain routine, it will seem to you as a natural process. The desire to eat fast food will disappear looking at how your body is changing.

The Sun reports that he said the foundation and construction of the trying times Nigerians are currently undergoing were laid and built by PDP, through mismanagement of resources and shameful looting.

“The truth is that APC’s administration has been trying to clear the mess of PDP mis-governance, while building necessary infrastructures that were left to decay under PDP.

“The policy document of PDP candidates says it all, what they want to do and how long they want to stay in power, contrary to fake promises.

"Former vice president and PDP presidential candidate, Abubakar Atiku, has said he will sell Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and refineries, and the question to ask is, who will be the buyers? We know his antecedents as the point man for the privatisation in PDP administration in the past, when many national developmental assets were sold off to cronies at giveaway prices."

Being a policeman has never looked any better on somebody as it does on a certain Nigerian man named Bruno Chigozie Opara. Bruno whose well built body and chiseled face meshes well with his crisp, clean police uniform seems to now have a reputation for being the most handsome officer in Nigeria.

This young man who hails from the South-eastern part of Nigeria is building a strong profile for himself on social media as a celebrity policeman. His lifestyle and personality goes beyond the routine tasks of cuffing criminals, looking for road defaulters or taking statements from victims of robberies and the likes.

Opara lives larger than that. Not only does he visit and explore places beyond the jurisdiction of police duties, he also makes the police job look so good with the way he wears his police uniforms.

Evidently, Bruno Chigozie Opara knows he is handsome and hot. Hence, the light-skinned guy never fails to flaunt his natural endowments. From pictures of being in the gym to walking the road, eating with a family or simply chilling in his office, this officer lives his life for the gram.

Nigeria's President Muhammadu Buhari has approved Enhanced Salary Structure for the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).

The president made the declaration after meeting with members of the Police Service Commission (PSC) on Monday, November 26, at the State House, Abuja.

President Buhari met with the board of PSC, led by the Inspector General of Police Ibrahim Idris.

In a series of tweets by Garba Shehu, the SSA on media and publicity, President Buhari assured that his administration will continue to give attention to the welfare and operational needs of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) with a view to restoring its lost primacy in the internal security framework of the country.

The president stated this during an audience with members of the Nigeria Police Service Commission and the leadership of Police on a “Thank You” visit following his approval of Rank Salary Structure Adjustment, by which salary, allowances and pension of policemen will be increased.

President Buhari regretted that the inability of the police in their constitutional role as the frontline force in the prevention of crime, had led to military involvement in the maintenance of law and order throughout the country.

According to the president: “From Taraba to Sokoto, to the South-South, people don’t feel secure until they see the military.

"I am pleased to make the increase in salary and allowances in the hope that it will increase the performance index of the police and strengthen Nigeria’s internal security system.”

President Buhari observed that the more efficient the police is, the more confident the government and citizens will be.

According to him: “The military should be reserved for higher tasks. The police should be able to cope well with the challenges of armed robbery, kidnapping for ransom and such crimes."

"In every town and village, there is the presence of the police. From all these places, they should be able to forward first class intelligence to you on which to act.”

“There is a need to amplify the question of more men of the police, especially given the condition we are in – emergency in the North-East, pervasive insecurity and abduction for ransom and banditry in many parts of the country.

Justice Clara Ogunbiyi (rtd), a full-time commissioner in the Nigeria Police Service Commission, who represented the chairman, Musiliu Smith, had informed the president that the Rank Salary Structure Adjustment would enhance police welfare and morale.

The Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, also assured that the police would redouble efforts to ensure free, fair and credible elections throughout the country next year.

- Onyeagucha says the APGA national chairman is the main reason for most of the crisis in the party

- The former aspirant states that Victor Oye acted dishonorably by displaying lack of objectivity and discernment in handling affairs of the party

Uche Onyeagucha, a former governorship aspirant of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in Imo state, has criticised the party’s national chairman, Victor Oye, for allegedly threatening to expel Bianca Ojukwu from the party.

Onyeagucha, in a statement, said it was embarrassing for such threat to be associated with Victor Oye, who he accused of being the reason for most of the crisis in the party.

The APGA chieftain stated that the party’s national chairman had acted dishonorably by displaying lack of objectivity and discernment in handling affairs of the party, Daily Trust reports.

To us, it is embarrassing that Victor Oye, after his undertakings in the party still have the effrontery to shamelessly open his disgusting mouth so wide to issue a suspension threat on Mrs Bianca Ojukwu,"Onyeagucha said.

“We thought that there is still a modicum of honour left with Sir Victor Oye but we never knew that his garment of honour has torn into shreds. He has really shown that he has lost his sense of objectivity and discernment we sincerely pity him for exposing his mental dysfunctionalism,”

Onyeagucha said APGA under Victor Oye is no more worthy of any body’s membership. He challenged Oye to rather suspend him from the party if he has the courage to do so.

Meanwhile, APGA on Sunday, November 25, announced that it would formally commence its national campaigns on Thursday, December 6 in Awka, the Anambra state capital ahead of 2019 presidential election.

The decision to flag off its campaign for the 2019 presidential election was reached at a strategy meeting between the state.

This Day reports that Governor Willie Obiano and members of the campaign committee of the party reached the agreement in a meeting they held in Awka.

- The Melete attack on Nigerian soldiers by insurgents is still generating reactions across the country

- The PDP has asked the National Assembly to commence investigation on the killings

- The main opposition party also chided the federal government for its silence on the issue

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has asked the National Assembly to immediately commence an extensive investigation into alleged compromises that led to the killing of over 100 Nigerian soldiers by insurgents.

The main opposition party made the demand in a statement sent to Legit.ng on Monday, November 26, by its national publicity secretary, Kola Ologbodiyan.

The PDP also chided the federal government for its silence, accusing the presidency of refusing to come forth with explanations on the issue.

The party said legislative investigation into the killing of the soldiers has become imperative, “given reports of compromises and alleged failure of the authorities to promptly act on a reported threat by insurgents to attack the base and other military locations in the area, few days before the attack.”

“This is in addition to a disturbing video, circulating in the public domain, showing soldiers, weeks before the attack, giving accounts of their neglect by the authorities, resulting in their vulnerability to insurgents,” Ologbodiyan lamented.

He continued: “This is particularly worrisome given apprehensions that President Muhammadu Buhari has been distracting the military by dragging our Service Chiefs to participate in his re-election campaign activities, instead of concentrating on their statutory duties.

“Moreover, the apparent insensitivity of the Buhari presidency to the killing as well as alleged moves by the authorities to sweep the matter under the carpet has created despondency among the citizens.

“The PDP therefore urges the National Assembly to unravel the compromises leading to the killing of our soldiers and those behind them.”

Meanwhile, a foreign freelance journalist based in Nigeria, Anna Cunningham, and AFP's Abuja bureau chief, Phil Hazlewood, have both dismissed Femi Adesina's claims that the military does not or rarely disclose the figure of its casualties globally.

Adesina, the spokesperson of President, Muhammadu Buhari, made the statement on Channels Television while speaking on the Melete attack and the long silence of the presidency.

Cunningham and Hazlewood debunked the presidential aide's claim after Channels Television tweeted the words of Adesina and they proceeded to tweet links of where British, American, Canadian and Australian military publish the names of their fallen heroes.

- The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) said Nigeria has lost its most valued crude oil buyers

- This is as many of the oil producer’s former customers have now turned to competitors in the energy market

- The DPR director, Mordecai Ladan, said the oil and gas industry seemed to be under a new threat

The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) on Monday, November 26, said Nigeria has lost its most valued crude oil buyers, even as its erstwhile gas customers are now competing with it, The Punch reports.

Mordecai Ladan, the director, DPR, said the oil and gas industry seemed to be under a new threat, which he described as the renewed dislike and global war against fossil fuels and the quest for renewable and cleaner energy.

Ladan speaking at the 18th edition of the International HSE Biennial Conference on the Oil and Gas Industry in Nigeria said: “Over the years, the threat against fossil fuels had always been on paper, but today, it is more real than ever, based on some clear evidence I like to draw our attention to.”

The director said three among the biggest technology companies, including Google and Apple, had made attempts at electric cars to replace petrol and diesel engines, with that of Tesla taking the world by surprise.

Ladan said: “Not only did the first two releases of Tesla outsell sales forecasts, they were actually oversubscribed, and the demand keeps rising while new models are being added.

As we speak, some of the big international oil companies here seated are funding gigantic researches into alternative fuels, which include the use of cheap, common algae.

In a previous report by Legit.ng, the minister of state for petroleum resources, Dr Ibe Kachikwu, has said the plan to get the Nigeria’s ailing refineries to work at almost full capacity will not materialise by 2019.

The minister stated this on Monday, November 26, in Lagos at the 18th edition of the International HSE Biennial Conference on the Oil and Gas Industry in Nigeria. Dr Kachikwu made the confession more than a year after he vowed to resign if he fails to achieve the target.

“I have said 2019, and that is the target that I gave,” the minister said while responding to a question about when Nigeria would be self-sufficient in refining petroleum products.
