Mamuzee Twins killed our mother - Sister cries out

- Mamuzee Twins recently lose their mother

- Singer Daddy Showkey claims theyabandoned their mother for 17 yeras

- Their younger sister Augusta reveals that the family will not forgive them for being the cause of their mother's death

Parents, especially mothers are easily heartbroken when separated from their children. Such is the case of the mother of the celebrated singers, Mamuzee Twins, who dies recently.

NAIJ.com had reported that veteran dancehall singer, Daddy Showkey, called out singing twins Mamuzee on social media explaining how the twins abandoned their mother for 17-years until her death. Showkey revealed that even when their mother went into coma he sent her ailing photos to them to see that she needs them but they refused to come to see her only for them to share her photo mourning her passage after she had died.

Well, one of the siblings of the twins, Augusta, has revealed that they are the cause of their mother’s untimely death. She spoke during the burial of their mother that she had 10 children and that it was only the twins that abandoned her.

She narrated further that after many years that they refused to see their mum she went to their house only for them to run into their rooms, came out with their bibles and stood on it telling their mother that she will die if she had come to them with any evil intention.

Daddy Showkey had earlier revealed that the twins abandoned their mother after their pastor told them she was a witch.

Augusta who is the younger sister of the Mamuzee Twins claimed that they should indeed be blamed for their mother’s untimely death.

She said:

“About six years ago, our mother was so unhappy with the fact that she had not seen her sons for a very long time, so she took two pastors and went to their house and according to the pastors that went with her, immediately they saw our mother, they went inside the room and came out with a bible.

“Then they stood on the Bible and placed a curse on our mother. They said that if she had come with any evil intention, she would die in a week. The pastors said that our mother could not cry; she just began to sweat. When they got back to my house, my mother could not say a word. That was the final straw that broke the camel’s back because after that day, we began to visit several hospitals over her health. Although I never tried to reach out to Mamuzee because I was very upset with them, some of my other siblings reached out to them but couldn’t get through them. About two months ago, I noticed that our mother could neither eat nor drink anything.”

Their sister further revealed that their mother never overcame the shock of the kind of treatment her children gave her. It was since then that her health started deteriorating.

“I got a nurse to treat her and we were told that she had malaria. When her health was getting worse, I rushed her to Igando General Hospital and to my surprise, I got Daddy Showkey’s call. He was our childhood friend even though he is older than Tony and Andrew. We all loved him. When I picked his call, the next question he asked was about our mother. By that time our mother was in a coma, Daddy Showkey asked me to do a video call when I was with my mother so that he could see for himself and I did as he instructed."

Like Daddy Showkey claimed in his ealier call to the twins after the death of their mother, Augusta said she took their mother's picture as advised by her father-in-law after she went into and sent to all her children, everyone else except the twins came to see her.

“My father-in-law advised me to take a picture of my mother in her comatose state and send it to all my siblings via Whatsapp. Every one of them responded, even the two that are abroad except Mamuzee. It was obvious that they saw it but they did not respond. All my mother’s children living in Nigeria rushed to the hospital to see her except Tony and Andrew and the two that are abroad kept calling constantly.”

Augusta claimed that before her death, when she opened her bible, the only prayer point she had in it was for her sons to come back to her.

“While she was alive and ill, she was always calling Mamuzee. There was a time I had to go to Bayelsa to get some of her things. There was a box where she kept her documents, I stumbled on her Bible and prayer books and the only thing she asked from God was for her twins to return to her. Our mother died of heartbreak and depression.”

“The amazing thing is that our mother never laid a curse on them. Our mother gave birth to ten children and we all have children of our own. If our mother was a witch, she could have killed us or her grandchildren but we are all healthy and doing very fine in life. We do not know where the story that they do not have children emanated from because they both have kids.”

Augusta added further that:

“Tony and Andrew killed our mother. It is Mary and Martha that are doing this to them. All is not well, I saw what they posted on Instagram about our mother’s death. They do not even have her recent picture except the one I sent when our mother was in a coma. The picture that they are posting online is the one my mother took after we just returned from Ghana in 1985. We started our lives in Ghana before our mother brought us back to Nigeria and singlehandedly raised us. Now they are calling this same woman a witch.”

“Tony and Andrew cannot be forgiven. I did not comment because I do not want to have anything to do with them. Tony and Andrew killed my mother and they would not find peace. My mother’s spirit would take vengeance. I give God the glory that my mother held her peace till the very end. My mother prayed for ten years to have twins and when she finally had Tony and Andrew, it was as if they were her only children. My siblings were angry that our mother really loved them but now that we are grown up, we understand. They would not go unpunished."

A 45-year-old man identified as Mr Olugbenga has revealed how his lover fled with his ATM card and allegedly withdrew N1 million from his bank account.

According to reports, Olugbenga who is a business man was visited by Thelma Kimberly, who is based in Port Harcourt, Rivers state, at his residence on Victoria Island, Lagos State, on May 17, 2018.

Punch City Round learnt that the lovers had a beautiful day touring the environment before they returned home to cap it all. The 45-year-old man reportedly slept off after which Kimberly who is 22 fled with his ATM card and a mobile phone.

She was said to have made withdrawals, transfers and purchases at a supermarket in Lekki using PoS.

Olugbenga reported the case at the Ikoyi Police Division and Kimberly was eventually tracked down this month.

A police source said that while the suspect was on the run, an order was sent to a bank she used to place a restriction on her account.

“The man then sent N100,000 to her bank account as bait with a belief that the bank would alert the police as soon as she made attempts to withdraw the money.

“However, she succeeded in withdrawing the N100,000. She even snapped the police order sent to the bank and sent it to the lover on WhatsApp.

“The police had written to the bank querying why the money was paid to her despite the order. Altogether, she made away with N1m,” the source said.

The suspect, in her statement to the police, confessed to the crime but said she returned the phone to the complainant through the manager of a restaurant on Victoria Island.

She said, “I met Olugbenga in 2016 in Port Harcourt when he visited my foster father, who is his friend. On May 17, around 8:00pm, I visited him in his residence on Victoria Island. He took me out and we bought some things. We had fun several times when we came back. He was tired and slept off.

“I left with his phone and ATM card and I made withdrawals of N150,000 at ATM stands in Obalende, Ikeja and VI. I went to a supermarket at Lekki Phase I and spent N363,000. I paid through PoS.

“I also did transfers of N250, 000 to some accounts. I gave some people from the money. I was just spending it and can’t calculate how much I spent altogether.”

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Chike Oti, said the suspect had been arraigned before a Tinubu Magistrate’s Court.

NAIJ.com gathered that George had hitherto attributed his political travails including his incarceration partly to Obasanjo while the duo were seen in the political terrain as sworn enemies.

He said: "We cannot query God, but to only take solace in what He has done to you. If this did not happen, who knows what next that will happen? I have not been around but it was in my mind to come over and commiserate with you and the family. May God grant the depose eternal rest."

But a sister to Bode George, Alhaja Majolagbe, in her vote of thanks declared that the rift between the two was over with the visit.

"We are all shocked when this started. But, today, devil has been put to shame. The evil this morning has been condemned outside this house. It will never come to this two great Nigerians anymore.

"There has come back again, when my brother will find Ota his home. It is over, Allah take all thanks," she said.

Chelsea star Cesc Fabregas reveals why Lionel Messi is struggling at the 2018 World Cup in Russia

- Cesc Fabregas claims Lionel Messi is under pressure to deliver at the 2018 World Cup

- The Barcelona star is yet to score a goal at Russia 2018 World Cup which started on June 14

- Fabregas says Lionel Messi is not playing with the players he is used to at the national team

Chelsea star Cesc Fabregas believes Barcelona forward Lionel Messi is currently struggling at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia because of pressure for him to deliver from his country.

Argentina are now on the verge of crashing out of the 2018 World Cup after getting only one point from their last two games against Iceland and Croatia.

Lionel Messi is yet to score a goal in this tournament and even missed a penalty against Iceland in Argentina's first game.

Fabregas believes Messi struggles for his country because he doesn’t have the same understanding or quality around him like he does at Barcelona.

“I think so because the pressure is different to Barcelona. I think so.

“He feels it, he feels that more people are expecting much more from him than what’s required at Barcelona. At Barcelona I think obviously the quality is higher.

“So here at Argentina, they expect he needs to score three goals every single game, like he does for Barcelona. I’m sorry but football is not that simple.

''As much as he is the best, it is difficult.” Fabregas was quoted by Daily Sta UK to have told BBC One.

Argentina will face the Super Eagles of Nigeria in their last Group D match at Russia 2018 World Cup in which a win for them could guarantee their passage to the round of 16.

Earlier, NAIJ.com had reported how Croatia qualified for the round of 16 at the ongoing 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia after beating Argentina 3-0 in their second Group D game on Thursday night, June 21.

Argentina went into this game with the hope of them getting a win after drawing their first match against Iceland, but they were embarrassed by Croatia who were superb in this tie.

This is Argentina’s worst defeat at World Cup since 1958 and also their worst start since 1974 as Lionel Messi failed to help his national team.

Ante Rebic, Luka Modric and Ivan Rakitic scored the three goals that condemned Argentina to a defeat against Croatia.

APC convention: Former MKO's running mate Kingibe’s SDP to replace nPDP

$

- Former SGF, Babagana Kingibe's SDP is reportedly set to replace nPDP in APC

- The ruling APC is holding its national convention to elect new executives today, Saturday, June 23

- Kingibe had in February this year said that he would not contest against President Buhari in 2019

As the All Progressives Congress (APC) holds its national convention today, Saturday, June 23, indications have emerged that the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Ambassador Babagana Kingibe, is set to replace the new Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP) with his structure of the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

Vanguard reports that Kingibe on Friday, June 22, said that the body would become the new political bloc in the All Progressives Congress (APC) arrangement.

READ ALSO: LIVE UPDATES: Preparation in top gear as APC holds convention; set to elect new national chairman

NAIJ.com gathered that Kingibe’s posters have, however, resurfaced and saturated major highways around Abuja and adjoining satellite towns of Lugbe, Airport road, Bwari, Zuba Jikwoyi and Karshi.

According to Vanguard, the old SDP group under Amb. Kingibe was being coordinated by former Senate president, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu and former deputy Senate leader, Senator Jonathan Zwingina.

It was gathered that some APC delegates were seen carrying Amb Kingibe’s 2019 posters, with face caps around the Eagle Square.

It will be recalled that Babagana Kingibe, had in February this year, said that he would not stand against President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2019 election.

The former SGF said this when his purported campaign posters for the presidency recently circulated in Abuja and other cities.

Kingibe had aspired to the presidency in 1991 under the defunct Social Democratic Party (SDP) but lost at the primary.

He later became the running mate to late Chief Moshood Abiola who won the 1993 presidential election that was eventually annulled by then Military President, Ibrahim Babangida.

But of recent, there were speculations in the country that he was warming up to take another shot at the presidency again.

However, in a statement he released then, he denied his alleged bid for the position, saying that he could not contest for the presidency with President Muhammadu Buhari in the ballot, adding that Buhari and his policies would “rescue Nigeria from the accumulated decay, loss of moral compass and leadership failure.”

Kingibe who had expressed his “full support” for the president, had said, “I am experienced enough in politics to know that you do not start a political campaign with posters without talking to anyone about your ambition.”

The statement also linked the circulation of the posters to a recent statement said to be written by some directors of the National Intelligence Agency to the House of Representatives committee on Security and National Intelligence accusing Kingibe of wrongdoing.

“The phantom allegations and the pasting of posters are too striking to be coincidental. This is a miscalculated attempt to malign and defame me.”

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had previously reported that a former secretary to the government of the federation, Babagana Kingibe, has claimed that he is not aware of the circulated 2019 presidential campaign posters bearing his image.

Russia 2018: What Argentina must do to qualify for World Cup knock-out round

$

- Argentina will head into their last Group D match against Nigeria with the mindset of beating the three-time African champions

- The Albiceleste and the Super Eagles’ will be gunning for an outright win during the all-important fixture

- But the Jorge Sampaoli side must do all in their arsenal to ensure Nigeria doesn’t play the way they performed in the second stanza against Iceland

South American giants Argentina will head into their last Group D match against Nigeria at the ongoing 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia with the mindset of beating the three-time African champions for a chance to progress to the round of 16.

During the Albiceleste, opening match of the global football fiesta, Barcelona’s superstar Lionel Messi failed to come to the party as Argentina played out a 1-1 draw with debutants, Iceland.

To make matters worse, the five-time ballon d'or winner also missed from the spot to further compound Argentina woes as hostilities commenced in the global football fiesta.

Going into their second Group D fixture against Croatia, the South Americans were hopeful that Messi and co will turn the negative tide around.

Sadly, after 90 minutes of football, the Croats further compounded the Argentina woes following a 3-0 pumping, even before former World Cup winner and Albiceleste legend, Diego Maradona, could not stop the European side from handing Argentina their biggest defeat in the history of the tournament.

A shoddy performance that forced the 57-year-old Maradona to shed tears after the blast of the referee’s final whistles.

At the last count, the South American side could only boost of a solitary point after two matches from a total of six.

Thus, going into their Group D last fixture on Tuesday, June 26, the two-time World Cup winners must as a matter of urgency, up their game if they nurse any ambition to overcome Nigeria’s Super Eagles during the encounter.

The Argentines’ must be aware that Nigeria’s Super Eagles are in positive groove after turning round their previous 2-0 defeat by Croatia in their opening game, with Friday’s 2-0 win over Iceland at Nizhny Novgorod Stadium, Nizhny Novgorod.

The scenario now is that both the Albiceleste and the Super Eagles’ will be gunning for an outright win during the all-important fixture, slated for Krestovsky Stadium, Saint Petersburg if they nurse any serious ambition of reaching the knock-rounds.

Although, Argentina’s playmaker, Lionel Messi is being touted to be playing his last World Cup, they must also find a way to work on their an uncoordinated defence line, an unsure shot-stopper, as well as a poor tactical input from the bench that seems loss with their performances so far.

PAY ATTENTION: Click on link to get World Cup results and standings on NAIJ.com

In addition, they must do all in their arsenal to ensure the Gernot Rohr-tutored side doesn’t play the way they performed against Iceland, especially in the second stanza as it will not guarantee them an outright win.

However, if the Albiceleste manage to beat the Super Eagles, below is what the group would likely look after the end of hostilities:

Iceland’s Strákarnir okkar (Our Boys) fall to Croatia’s Blazers

The above will be a good result for the South Americans as one point will see them progress to the knock-out round

This is what Group D log would look: Croatia (9 points), Argentina (4 points), Nigeria (3 points) and Iceland (1 point).

What Argentina must do to qualify for World Cup Round of 16

Iceland and Croatia cancel out one another

The above result would be best for the Albestie provided they claim a win of any colour over the rampaging Super Eagles on match day

This is what Group D log would look: Croatia (7 points), Argentina (4 points), Nigeria (3 points) and Iceland (2 points).

Iceland overcome Croatia

If the above result sees the blight of the day, it will definitely compound issues for the South Americans. A victory in the last group matches for both Iceland’s and Argentina’s Albiceleste would see the two get a total haul of 4 points (Croatia’s Blazers, on the other hand, would emerge tops in Group D with 6 points but Nigeria’s Super Eagles will end their campaign on the last spot with 3 points).

Then FIFA will employ the use of tie breaker rules to decide the side that will progress to the knock-out rounds. On fact remains that the goals scored on the night will no doubt help the teams that will qualify for next stage of the tournament.

Ahead of the last fixtures, Iceland has a goal difference of -2 while Argentina has -3, therefore, the South Americans must overcome Nigeria by more goals than Iceland are likely to put past Croatia.

What Argentina must do to qualify for World Cup Round of 16

Interestingly, reports suggest that Croatia’s Blazers’ might opt not to play some of their big players in the last group fixture having sealed a spot in the last 16 round.

However, a surprise defeat from Iceland might see them losing out their first position on the log to Nigeria’s Super Eagles.

Therefore, a victory for Nigeria with enough goals against Argentina will see the Super Eagles, move to the top of Group D log with six points after three games.

In conclusion, Argentina must thus ensure they stop Nigeria by going the extra mile to check the fighting hard Super Eagles on match day.

No doubt, Group D last fixtures will be explosive and interesting to follow in all ramifications.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously had reported that Argentina’s manager, Jorge Sampaoli has faulted Lionel Messi’s teammates for not doing enough to assist the playmaker in their 0-3 loss to Croatia’s Blazers’.

Strikes from Ante Rebic, Luka Modric, as well as Ivan Rakitic ensured that the two-time World Cup winners and three-time finalists, are on the verge of an early return to Buenos Aires, despite been tipped by bookmakers, to go all the way in Russia.

Godfather syndrome may hinder ‘Not-Too-Young-To-Run’ law - Archbishop raises concern

- A Lagos-based archbishop, Bishop Alfred Martins has raised concerned over not-too-young-to-run law

- He said that godfather syndrome may hinder the law from being effective

- The new law gives youths the opportunity to run for political office with less strict conditions

The Catholic Archbishop of the Metropolitan See of Lagos, Most Rev. Alfred Martins, said that “Not-Too-Young-to-Run” law may not be effective if political godfather syndrome continued to exist in the polity.

NAIJ.com gathered that Martins said in Lagos on Saturday, June 23, that besides the syndrome, there were other factors that could hinder the law from fulfilling its purpose.

It was reported that President Muhammadu Buhari signed the “Not-Too-Young-to-Run” Bill on May 31.

The new law, which alters sections 65, 106, 131, 177 of the country’s Constitution, gives youths the opportunity to run for political office with less strict conditions.

The archbishop said: “While we laud the enactment of the law, we also recognise that it is not enough by itself to create a space for young people.

“It is also necessary to provide the enabling environment so that it will be effective in fulfilling its purpose. If money politics and political god-father syndrome that strangulates new initiatives still rules, the law will just be another of the laws in the books, unable to fulfil its purpose.”

He, however, noted that there was no correlation between age and performance.

According to him, having a young leader does not guarantee good governance.

“When leaders are remembered, it is not simply because of their age, but their level of performance and positive impact they have made in the welfare of the masses.

“Certainly, one who is going to be a good leader has to be genuinely interested in the welfare of everyone under his watch and able to spend whatever resources in his charge for the common good.’’

Assessing Buhari’s performance, the archbishop said that a lot needed to be done to ensure the security of citizens in the country.

“We still have a lot of insecurity in the nation, particularly with regards to the herdsmen and he needs to work on it fast.

“Corruption to some extent is being addressed, with regards to people who have stolen money and are being asked to return it.

“The president also needs to ensure that the fight against corruption is spread across board so as to show his commitment to the course,” he said. (NAN)

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had previously reported that the Civil Society Groups for Good Governance (CSGGG) has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for signing into law the Not Too Young To Run bill.

Niger Delta leaders give red card to ALL south-south lawmakers

$

- The leaders say allowing the south-south's budgetary allocations to be tampered with in the legislature showed that the lawmakers were the problem of the oil-rich region

- They had praises for President Buhari who, they said, cared about the region enough to include provisions for them in his budget

- The Niger Delta therefore called on all voters in the south-south region to vote out their respective lawmakers in the next general election

Leaders in Niger Delta have rejected re-election for current members representing the region in the National Assembly in the 2019 general election.

The leaders made the call on Friday, June 22 while reacting to budgetary cuts to the oil-rich region in the 2018 appropriation bill passed by the National Assembly and signed by President Muhammadu Buhari into law.

According to the leaders, their representatives in the federal legislature had no business being in there because they were insensitive, self-serving and incompetent.

The Nation reports that one of the leaders and former President of the Ijaw Youths Council (IYC) worldwide Udengs Eradiri said there was no justification for the reduction in the budgetary allocations for critical projects in a region that produces resources which finances the entire budget.

Eradiri said President Buhari meant well for the region because he made provisions for them in his budget but claimed the lawmakers, who were the problem of the region, allowed them to be cut off.

He said: ”It is unacceptable. This goes further to expose the kind of leadership that we have. I have further come to the conviction that the Federal Government is actually not our problem but our own people are our problems.

“Where were our senators and our representatives from the Niger Delta when the budget went through the House. How come they don’t have a caucus that looked at those items that concern the Niger Delta and ensure that the are funded to better the lives of our people?

“Niger Delta people are their own problems. What are the qualities of individuals they send to represent us? They cannot defend our people. They have no business in the National Assembly. Niger Delta people must vote out such individuals.

“How can they sit down and allow our budgets to be reduced? It means that the President mean well for the Niger Delta but the Niger Delta representatives don’t mean well. How can they allow the East-West road to be reduced?

“It is unimaginable that the lawmakers watched as the budget for the Maritime University which became the centre of disputes and led to the formation of all kinds of groups that caused bloodshed in this country and brought down the economy, was reduced.

“Senators from the region were busy talking about commonsense but they don’t have commonsense to look at what concerned the region. It is annoying, provocative, sad and painful.

“If it were my days in IYC, l would arranged to flog them. But Niger Delta people should not allow such persons go back to the National Assembly. We should emphasise on quality of persons representing the region. Niger Delta representatives are a disgrace.”

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com reported earlier that federal lawmakers issued a comprehensive 22-page reply to President Buhari's criticisms of the cuts to executive allocations in the 2018 budget.

According to the report, the lawmakers explained that allocations for some projects were slashed to correct the alleged imbalance in the appropriation bill.

The legislators said that the projects as proposed in the 2018 appropriation bill presented by President Muhammadu Buhari was lopsided.

The clarification was made by the chairman of the Senate committee on media and public affairs, Senator Aliyu Sabi-Abdullahi, at a joint press conference in Abuja on Friday, June 22.
