Yemi Osinbajo, the vice president of Nigeria, on Wednesday, February 13, urged churches in Nigeria to wake up to the responsibility of condemning corruption and ill-gotten riches, Vanguard reports.

Osinbajo expressed serious worry over the fact that corruption is presently Nigeria's worst predicament that has led to several deaths among youths and children.
As a guest at a special service of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Ikorodu, in Lagos, Osinbajo spoke on the topic, The church and the destiny of the nation.
The vice president said that wrong teachings on how wealth gotten “sometimes give the impression that there is no need for hard work.”

Osinbajo further stated: “I do not hear very often that the church criticises corruption and corrupt people. I don’t hear very often that there is condemnation, because, when you look at it, the greatest problem that our country has is corruption.”
Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that Osinbajo had reacted after surviving a helicopter crash on his way to Kogi state in continuation of the campaign for the re-election of Muhammadu Buhari, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Osinbajo, who was aboard the helicopter with members of his team when the incident happened, told Nigerians that he was safe.
