The Ebonyi state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday, November 26, faulted claims by the All Progressives Congress (APC) that Governor Dave Umahi had performed below expectations.
Fidelis Nwankwo, the director-general, Governor Umahi Campaign Organisation, in an interview with journalists in Abakaliki said he would lead APC leaders in the state to inspect Umahi’s projects.
He said: “It is our responsibility to manage the governor’s campaign organ. We were in place in 2015, and with the cooperation of members, we delivered.

“This time round our job has been made easier by the governor himself. He has not only performed creditably well, he has exceeded the expectations of the people in many areas.
“You know what Abakaliki urban used to look like in 2015. By then, it was easier for you to park your car at home and walk than for you to ply the muddy path. This was transformed within months. You go to bed and sleep, and all of a sudden you see the muddy path change to a tarred path.It is a miracle.
“These things have been taken to the rural areas. We have electricity, empowerment.”
Nwankwo added: “Should we buy them ( APC) eyeglasses to see what the governor has been doing?
“So, if they don’t have eyes and cannot see well, we will buy them eyeglasses. I challenge them to an open debate.”

Legit.ng previously reported that Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi state has explained why he was absent at the turbaning ceremony of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as seventh Waziri Adamawa on Sunday, November 25.
Umahi stated that he attended another event of the sub apex Igbo socio-political organisation known as Ndigbo Lagos foundation in Lagos.
The governor, who spoke through his spokesman, Emmanuel Uzor, noted that the governor was in touch with the celebrant, and further commended the presidential candidate for the conferment of the title.
