Premier League giants Manchester United have tabled a €40m (£36m) offer for Flamengo star Lucas Paqueta.
According to a Catalan publication Sport, the Red Devils are in the running for the talented midfielder, who has a €50m release clause in his present deal at Flamengo.
At the last count, the 21-year-old Paqueta, has netted 14 times in 80 appearances since breaking into Flamengo’s main team in 2016 and has attracted suitors among Europe’s top clubs.

The report further revealed that La Liga champions, Barcelona are keeping vigil on the highly-rated Paqueta alongside the trio of Liverpool, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain.
Interestingly, the Jose Mourinho tutored-side sealed moves for the trio of Fred, Diogo Dalot and Lee Grant during the summer window and Paqueta is a possible addition in January.
Currently, Paqueta is rated among South America’s most promising youngsters, and has enjoyed two Selecao caps in recent time.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously had reported that Manchester United superstar Romelu Lukaku has credited his superb performance in the Premier League to Chelsea legend Didier Drogba.
The Belgium star revealed he has been in contact with the 2012 Champions League winner since his arrival to the UK in 2011.
He has scored four goals in five matches in the English topflight this season since he joined the Red Devils in 2017.
