2019: APC chieftain refutes defection rumours, declares for governorship

- Honourable Aliyu Wadada has declared his interest to emerge as Nasarawa state governor in 2019

- Wadada made the declaration recently after rumours surfaced that he plans to leave the All Progressives Congress (APC)

- He also denied rumours that he intends to run for the Nasarawa West senatorial seat under the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA)

A former two time House of Representatives member, Honourable Aliyu Wadada, has declared his interest to emerge as Nasarawa state governor in 2019.

Wadada, who represented Keffi, Kokona, Karu federal constituency between 2003-2011, made the declaration recently after rumours surfaced that he plans to leave the APC for the APGA.

He also denied rumours that he intends to run for the Nasarawa west senatorial seat under APGA in the 2019 polls.

Speaking at the declaration, Wadada said: “We shall join hands with the people of Nasarawa to make our dearly beloved state a befitting one where there would be the dignity of life. I bring to the good people of Nasarawa state a credible, dynamic, and contemporary opportunity to improve our commonwealth as a state.

“Our government will be innovation-driven based on contemporary public service approach. Our commitments as outlined in our manifesto.”

He said he will focus on public service accountability and good governance; sustainable human capital development; security, law and social order, reformation of land administration and related investments and infrastructure for economic growth and prosperity.

“Our vision is a Nasarawa state that life will be worth living for the citizens,” he added.

Similarly, Chief Musa Muhammed Maikaya, a leading governorship aspirant in Nasarawa under the APC has revealed his plans to provide access a minimum of N1 billion every year for entrepreneurial ventures across the state, specifically for unemployed youths.

Maikaya made the disclosure recently during an interaction with select journalists over his ambition to lead the state in 2019.

Dishing out his plans of fighting unemployment in the state, Maikaya said he would establish the Nasarawa State Employment Trust Fund to cater for the unemployed youths in the state, and the fund would provide access a minimum of N1billion every year.
