The police in Delta state have prevented the bombing of the Chevron Escravos Flow Station following the discovery and detonation of detonated a 2kg seismic dynamite.
According to Daily Trust, the discovery was made on Monday, April 9.

According to the Delta State Commissioner of Police, Muhammad Alhaji Mustafa, some credible persons provided information that led to the foiling of the attack.
He said some hoodlums planted the dynamites inside in Chevron Escravos Flow Station.
He said: "The Command’s IED experts were deployed to the scene and uncovered a 2kg seismic dynamite, electric detonator, 13 meters wire connected to the base of oil pumping pipe.
"They discovered that the objects were IEDs planted at the base of the Flow pump ostensibly designed to cause serious collateral damage as the petroleum product in the pipe could have caused serious conflagration on the facilities.”
The police chief said investigation was still going on.
Meanwhile, he Nigerian Navy said it has discovered six new illegal refineries with combined capacity to refine four million litres of crude oil daily in Alakiri, Asari Toru local government area of Rivers state.

Leadership reports that that the executive officer of the Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) pathfinder Port Harcourt, Capt. Victor Choji, disclosed this while destroying one of the illegal refineries on Friday, March 30, in Alakiri, Asari-Toru.
NAIJ.com gathered that Choji said: “The refinery (in Alakiri) has capacity to produce one million litres of refined petroleum products daily, while the five other refineries have production-capacity of three million litres daily."
