Former Governor Gabriel Suswam has again been detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) following his alleged role on how the reported N23 billion from Diezani Alison-Madueke, former petroleum minister, was disbursed.
Punch reports that the governor’s detention was confirmed by Wilson Uwujaren, the spokesperson of the anti-graft agency.

The amount was said to have been disbursed in 2015 in the heat of the presidential election, through the director of finance of the Goodluck Jonathan Campaign Organisation, Senator Nenadi Usman.
The report said while governors in PDP states received N450 million, ministers got money in states that were governed by the opposition.
