The senator in a statement on Facebook on Tuesday, September 12, said the decision to seek reelection remains the sole decision of President Buhari.

The political activist turned politician said the president is old enough and has been in government longer than anyone in his party or cabinet to know what to do.

He however stated that nation still needs the services of Buhari, but that it was up to the president to decide if he wants to continue on the job.

The Senator compared Buhari to a good driver who has driven for a long distance and so much cherished by his passengers, adding that the decision as to whether the president is willing to cover more distance rests on him.

Meanwhile, former vice-president, Atiku Abubakar, has said he will shock everyone by fighting corruption like never before if he ever gets the chance to become president of Nigeria.

Atiku made the statement on Monday, September 11, during a facility tour of the new ultra-modern Yaliam Press Limited in Jabi area of Abuja, The Punch reports.

The former vice-president also challenged those accusing him of being corrupt to provide evidence to back their claims.

In a statement released by his media office, the APC chieftain accused his political enemies of selling the idea that he is corrupt to Nigerians, despite the fact that he had not been convicted of corruption by any court in the land or elsewhere.
