Breaking: Pandemonium at Imo airport as fire razes facility (photos)

There was pandemonium at the Imo state International Cargo Airport on Monday, April 8, as a section of the facility was razed by fire. Staff and passengers were seen racing to safety.

The actual cause of the incident was yet to be released at the time of this report.

It was, however, learnt that the fire began at the arrival section of the airport where the facility’s authority was carrying out renovation works.

It was learnt that fire service operatives arrived the airport, which was named after former Governor late Sam Mbakwe, at about 45 minutes after and were able to salvage the situation.
