His ingenuity again came to play on Saturday, March 30, as he bagged a brace for Barcelona in the club's 2-0 victory over Espanyol at the Camp Nou.
The 31-year-old's first goal saw him successful execute the outrageous Panenka free-kick for his 40th goal of the season.
While his second was a low strike after good work from substitute Malcom. The victory saw Barcelona move 13 points clear at the top of the table.

For the last 10 season, Messi has hit the 40 goals mark in all competitions. In the 2009/10 season he managed 47 goals in all competitions.
In 2010/11 season, he scored 53 goals and in the 2011/12 season, he registered his highest numbers scoring 73 goals, 50 of those coming in La Liga.
In 2012/13 season, he registered 60 goals, 41 goals in 2013/14 season, 58 goals in 2014/15 season, 41 goals in 2015/16 season, 54 goals in 2016/17 season, 45 goals in 2017/18 season and now 41 goals in 2018/19 season.
