While love is a beautiful thing and finding the right one is more like heaven on earth, not everyone is lucky to end up with the right one and this is seen in the story of a female Twitter user currently in an abusive marriage.
Identified as Moroetsana, she took to the mirco-blogging platform to cry out for help, revealing her husband of one year is emotionally abusive. Moroetsana revealed that although he has physically assaulted her just once, he is constantly emotionally abusive and is a known cheat who lies a lot.
She wrote: "I'v only been married for a year and my husband is emotionally abusive...became physical once and when i confronted him he cried to me saying he don't wanna end up like his father... The emotional abuse never stops.. He's soo manipulative,he cheats, lies and its always my fault"

He wounds me during the day and expects s*x at night... When my body doesn't respond he blames it on my past(i was s*xually molested as a child) he says im sick and should seek help."

Moroetsana continued:"I feel suffocated every time he's around but i don't have the courage to deal with the consequences of making a decision to leave...numb, depressed and s**cidal He says he don't feel man enough because i work and he doesn't.. So i cant confront his extravagant behavior as well. He's forbidden me from seeing my bff bcz she is always there for me...he says she's a bad influence...i'm also not allowed to go to my own church and when i do i am "unruly" says in his house the only church to be attended is his.."

While this lady is still alive to seek help from people, the said could not be said for a lady identified as Aisha Fraser, who was reportedly killed by her abusive husband, Lance Mason.
In Lance’s bid to avoid police arrest, he tried escaping in a car and injured himself and an officer in the process.
While domestic abuse is very endemic in this part of the world, little has been done to curb the ill which according to reports, affects women mostly.
