The arraignment of the chief justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen, had about 30 senior advocates of Nigeria in defence of the former, while the federal government's prosecution team had only one SAN.

Punch reports that apart from the 30 SANs that comprised the defence team, the defence team also had about 100 other junior lawyers, while the prosecution team had four other junior counsels.
