A massive number lawmakers in the House of Representatives have threatened to boycott session on Wednesday, December 26, meant for the presentation of 2019 appropriation bill by President Muhammadu Buhari.
It was said that the threat was a response to some uncomplimentary remarks on them attributed to the minister of budget and national planning, Senator Udo Udoma, Vanguard reports.

The minister allegedly accused the legislature of stifling efforts to lay the budget, saying they have not given them a date.
But upon resumption of plenary and subsequent reading of a communication from President Buhari which requested the House to designate Wednesday for the laying of the document, the House erupted in anger against Udoma.
Lawmakers who were angry with the minister said he deliberately lied against them to rubbish the House as well as cover up the incompetence of the executive arm, adding that they were accused of having abandoned their duties.

Meanwhile, the speaker, Honourable Yakubu Dogara, resolved that if fail Udoma fails to tender public apology for his alleged statement, the House would take a decision on the issue.
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that President Muhammadu Buhari had written to the House of Assembly to notify them of his intention to present the 2019 budget to the lawmakers.
In the letter read by the speaker of the House, Yakubu Dogara, on the floor of the House on Thursday, December 13, the president said he would present the budget proposal on December 19 at a joint session of the Senate and the House of Representatives.
