The Egyptian managed to score 44 goals last season and was incredible for Jurgen Klopp's side.

However, Salah seemed almost frustrated at his inability to find the net this season, as had almost become common practice for him in the English topflight.

He has hit the target 13 times in Liverpool's current campaign and his last goal against Napoli was crucial for the Reds to make it to the round of 16.

Klopp's men were unsure of their chances before the meeting having gathered just six points after five matches.

With Napoli and Paris Saint Germain occupying the first and the second positions on the log after the same number of matches.

They finished second behind French League side PSG on Group C table.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Mohamed Salah's lone goal in the 24th minute was all Liverpool needed to stretch their unbeaten run in the Premier League to nine games.

The Egyptian forward scored from a close range to ensure they beat their hosts Huddersfield Town at John Smith's Stadium on Saturday, October 20.

Their slim victory in the game pushed them to second on the EPL table after Chelsea shared spoils with Manchester United in their fixture at Stamford Bridge earlier in the day.
