Tyson Fury stepped into the ring in Staples Center, Los Angeles on Saturday, December 1, ready to prove he still had the fight in him and challenged current WBC heavyweight champion, Deontay Wilder.
Following a split decision by the judges the match was declared a draw but that would not have been the case if the Gypsy King did not astonishingly recover from a thunderous knockdown.
It was the final round and it all looked set to be Fury's night as he had cunningly outwitted the bomber through most of the fight - up until the 12th round when Fury hit the canvas out cold.

"Credit to him he caught me flush but I got up and I don't know how, I was a Phoenix rising from the ashes" the Brit said while speaking to Sky Sports.
Having already hit the floor in the ninth thanks to one of Wilder's bomb blows, it was Fury's second knockout and the current champ was convinced he had finished his opponent off.

"I had two decisions on that floor - stay down or get up. As long as there's life in this body I will keep continuing to fight," Fury defiantly said.

The Gypsy King then went on to make it clear what he meant by singing a rendition of Chumbwamba's 'I get knocked down, but I get up again, you're never gonna keep me down'.
Sky Sports (UK) indicates the WBC has now sanctioned a direct rematch between the heavyweight champion and Fury, following a unanimous agreement by the board of governors.

"The WBC conducted a voting through the board of governors, which resulted in a unanimous decision to sanction a direct rematch between WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury," the statement read.
The decision was made following tremendous popular demand for the fans to see a rematch after one of the best fights in the heavyweight division since Lennox Lewis and Mike Tyson in 2002.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously had reported that WBC Champion, Deontay Wilder, defended his title against fellow unbeaten heavyweight Tyson Fury in the biggest heavyweight fight in the United States, since Lennox Lewis and Mike Tyson in 2002.
After an epic display of resilience and strength, the judges saw fit to score the bout 115-111 for Wilder, 114-110 for Fury and 113-113 down the middle.
The big fight placing the Bomber against the Gypsy King took place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Saturday, December 1.
