A new report by the Human and Environmental Development Agenda (HEDA) has indicted 47 former governors and 10 ex-ministers in high profile corruption and financial crimes in Nigeria worth over N2 trillion.
Daily Trust reports that the report, unveiled at an occasion to celebrate the 2018 World Anti-Corruption Day in Lagos, involved 47 former governors, 10 former ministers/presidential advisers, three senators, two judges, among others.

The chairman of HEDA, Olanrewaju Suraj, said the N2trillion corruption cases included the $2.1bn arms scam involving a former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki.
Suraj said the extent of corruption in Nigeria is such that people now lack regard for decency.
He said: “What we see now is people accused of corrupt practices would still throw up celebration the next day.”

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) boss said the agency will make sure it arraigns before the court all candidates of political parties who have been indicted in various corruption cases and are seeking election into public offices across the country before the polls.
