The speaker of the Akwa Ibom House of Assembly, Onofiok Luke, has reportedly notified leaders from Essien Udim local government area of the state that a former governor, Godswill Akpabio, should be held for anything that happens to him.
Speaker Luke claims that Akpabio, a former governor of the state, is after his life.
Daily Independent reports that the speaker made this claim before the kinsmen of Akpabio on Monday, December 3, while addressing the stakeholders led by Obong Michael Afangideh as well as the commissioner for investment, commerce and industry, Prince Ukpong Akpabio, on a solidarity visit to him.

Luke claimed that the sacked lawmaker from the area stormed the House of Assembly with a gun and threatened to kill him.
He alleged that the lawmaker confessed to be acting on the instruction of Akpabio.
The speaker said: “My dear fathers, I want to once again alert all of you that Senator Godswill Akpabio is after my life.
“If any should happen to me today (God forbid!), hold him responsible.
“When Nse Ntuen forced his way here last week, he approached one of my aides with a guy and threatened that he was ready to gun me down on behalf of Senator Godswill Akpabio.
“So I want the whole world to hear.”

The speaker commended the guests for the visit and thanked them for supporting the administration of Governor Udom Emmanuel and his second term bid.
Legit.ng earlier reported that Godswill Akpabio recently denied any role in the crises that engulfed Akwa Ibom including the incident that happened at the House of Assembly on Tuesday, November 27.
In a statement by his special assistant on media, Aneite Ekong, Akpabio, a former governor of Akwa Ibom, said he was reacting because of the alleged spurious allegation that he had a role in the crises.
