Legit.ng gathers that the president’s pledged was disclosed in a press statement released by his senior special assistant, Garba Shehu.

The president thanked his Sewdish counterpart for his country’s effort in acting as an intermediary to secure the release of some Chibok girls. He further assured Berset that the issue of the remaining kidnapped girls and other abducted persons will remain a “key priority” for the Nigerian government.

The two presidents discussed joint strategies to ensure the safe return of the girls, building on the past successes of securing the release of some of the Chibok girls and other abducted persons in the nation’s north-east zone.

Buhari also welcomed the commitment of the Swedish president to continue providing Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Nigeria with humanitarian assistance.

He said: “We will continue to make the safe release of the remaining Chibok girls a priority and will welcome any kind of support from any quarters to make this happen.”

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that the parents of the Chibok girls still held by Boko Haram terrorists expressed worry that President Muhammadu Buhari had not paid a visit to console them or sent a delegation to do that on his behalf.

This was disclosed by the chairman of Chibok Parents Association, Yakubu Nkenke, who said the parents were anxious to hear directly from the president rather than through the media.
