Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi took to social media after learning that he did not finish among the top three at the 2018 Ballon d'Or award held in Paris.

Real Madrid star Luka Modric won the award for the first time in his career beating Cristiano Ronaldo who came second and Antoine Griezmann who finished third.

This will be the first time since the year 2007 that Lionel Messi will be out of the top three in the Ballon d'Or award, but he seems not to be perturbed with the latest development.

Lionel Messi did not attend the award ceremony in Paris, but he was active on social media as at the time Luka Modric was named the winner of the 2018 Ballon d'Or.

Just moment after Luka Modric lifted the trophy in Paris, Messi posted a picture of what he was doing to Instagram Story.
