Torreira reveals Unai Emery's half-time talk that inspired the Gunners to beat Spurs

Arsenal star midfielder Lucas Torreira, has opened the lid on what transpired in the dressing room at half-time to inspire the Gunner's to a 4-2 victory over Tottenham Hotspurs on Sunday, December 2 in the London derby.

The hosts were trailing Spurs 2-1 at half-time after Eric Dier and Harry Kane netted a goal apiece to cancel out Pierre Aubameyang's opener.

But the Gunners went on to score twice in the second-half to stage an epic comeback as they carted home all the three points.

French star midfielder Alexander Lacazette and Aaron Ramsey were the difference moments after coming off the bench, with Aubameyang restoring parity for the home side in the 56th minute.

A curled effort from Lacazette moments later handed Arsenal the lead, with Torreira extending the lead in the 77th minute to put the game beyond Spurs.

The Uruguayan midfielder, who eventually emerged MOTM following his exploits revealed what was said at half-time to inspire the stunning comeback.

"(Emery told us) to be calm, to continue playing because there were 45 more minutes left, that we keep attacking because obviously in the second half we were going to find more spaces," he told ESPN.

"In fact, it happened and we scored the goals at key moments."
"In the first half we started very strong, pressing very high, sometimes we managed to steal the ball very high we had many chances after scoring the first goal."
"We listened to the manager and we improved many things. That worked for us to get the victory," he added.

Following their emphatic victory over their arch-rivals, Arsenal now sit fourth on the Premier League standings with 30 points, level with Spurs who dropped to fifth.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Lucas Torreira played a fantastic game for Arsenal at the Emirates stadium which helped the Gunners to beat visiting Tottenham.

Former Cardiff City star Aaron Ramsey was also superb for the Gunners in the midfield in what was a tough North London derby.
