Beyond the fame and popularity that comes with being a musician, there are actually several other accompanying disadvantages to it. One of the common downside to being a singer was experienced by a particular Nigerian rapper named CDQ.
Recently, the rapper shared a heartbreaking incident which happened to him. According to him, his pendant was stolen somewhere in Victoria Island called Harbour Point.
He had gone for a show in the said location and had misplaced the pendant during the course of the event. CDQ who had a special attachment to the misplaced accessory took to his Twitter page to solicit the help of his fans.
The rapper implored that they should help return the jewelry to him if any of them finds it. In the course of making this honest plea, CDQ revealed its price.

Many Nigerians have taken to commenting on CDQ’s post. Many of them insisted the rapper made a mistake by revealing the real worth of the pendant. According to them, even if it was eventually found by someone, knowing how expensive it is, the person would not be so willing to return it.

The loss of CDQ’s pendant bears more painful significance against the backdrop of his previous loss. The musician had lost a chain while at a show in Ado Ekiti and just when he was recovering from that, his pendant has also gone missing. That is quite a lot to take in.
But then, it is not CDQ that has experienced the unpleasant downside to being a musician. Others have. An example is singer Mayorkun who was attacked and raided after a show. During the entire attack, the two cars he had brought to the venue were smashed and dented by the attackers.
Indeed, the maxim ‘no pain, no gain’ is way too true to be ignored.
