- It was gathered that men of the Nigeria Police Force locked down the Akwa Ibom state House of Assembly for the second time in two weeks
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has condemned the shutting down of Akwa Ibom House of Assembly.
Legit.ng reports that the PDP in a statement on its official twitter page @officialPDPNig, said that the siege on the Akwa Ibom state House of Assembly, was orchestrated by the former Senate minority leader, Senator Godswill Akpabio.
The statement read: "The whole idea behind the recent onslaught by the Senator Godswill Akpabio’s sponsored sacked members of the state assembly is to cause mayhem, generate tension with a view to make the state ungovernable. This is criminal and unacceptable."

Meanwhile, Legit.ng gathered that for the second time in two weeks, men of the Nigeria Police Force have locked down the Akwa Ibom state House of Assembly.
The Assembly was invaded by five recently sacked lawmakers, who came with heavily armed policemen and thugs.
It was gathered that the sacked lawmakers are in possession of the mace and are set to impeach the speaker, suspend 21 of their colleagues and commence proceedings to impeach the state governor.

The development comes just days after the police was ordered by Senate president Bukola Saraki, to vacate the premises and allow lawmakers access to their chambers.
