Uganda force Nigeria to 0-0 draw in their friendly game at the Stephen Keshi Stadium

- Nigeria and Uganda share spoils in their friendly meeting staged at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba

- Both sides had already qualified for next year's African Cup of Nation's championship in Cameroon

- The test game was to test some of their fring players who have not had enough playing time in their past games

Super Eagles were forced to a goalless draw by the Cranes of Uganda at the Stephen keshi Stadium, Asaba on Tuesday, November, 20.

The stalemate means Gernot Rohr's men have stretch their unbeaten run to five matches after their 2-1 defeat to Argentine in late June.

Nigeria recently qualified to participate in the 2019 African Cup of Nations championship after missing the last two editions.

They last featured on the continent in 2013 when they won the AFCON title in South Africa under late Stephen Keshi.

However, both sides gave account of themselves all through the game - although a lot of players featured in the game due to its friendly status.

Meanwhile, coach Gernot Rohr gave the fringe players in the squad a chance to showcase their talents having failed to lay claims on starting shirt in their last game.

Uganda on the other hand kept a clean sheet in the game while they stretch their unbeaten run to five games.

They defeated Cape Verde in their last AFCON qualification game at the Mandela National Stadium to reach the 2019 edition of the championship with 13 points from five games.

For Nigeria, Akpeyi replace Ikechukwu Ezenwa in goal, while Samuel Chukwueze got his first national team cap.

Victor Osimhen returned to the team while Bryan Idowu also tasted some minutes of action against the Cranes.

Al Nassr forward Ahmed Musa was however presented with his footballer of the year 2018 by Delta state governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, before the kickoff took place.

He was crowned the best player in the outgoing year at the Nigeria Sports Awards recently done in Lagos.

Legit.ng earlier reported that all was now set for the international friendly match between the Super Eagles and the Cranes of Uganda at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba.

The test game is expected to afford some of the fringe players in the squad the chance to showcase their quality to the coaches and the fans at large.

Having failed to secured starting spots in coach Gernot Rohr's team since the start of the 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifiers.
