Breaking: Police file charges against Osun PDP governorship candidate Adeleke

Emerging reports indicate that the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has filed charges against Osun Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant Senator Ademola Adeleke, at the Federal High Court in Abuja, Channels TV reports.

NAIJ.com gathered that the charges against the senator include examination malpractice, aiding and abetting, impersonation, and criminal conspiracy.

The principal of Ojo-Aro Community High School, Egbedore local government area, Osun state, and three others are also to be arraigned for what the police describes as conspiracy with the Senator.

Jimoh Moshood, police spokesperson, on Wednesday, September 19, said that investigations revealed that Senator Adeleke and his brother Sikiru Adeleke registered and sat for the National Examination Council Examination (NECO) 2017 as internal candidates, impersonating students of the school at the ages of 57 and 42 years respectively.

In a previous report by NAIJ.com, the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) confirmed that Senator Ademola Adeleke, the candidate of the PDP for September 22 governorship election in Osun state, sat for its examination in 1981.

The sub-regional examinations body made the confirmation in its response to an order made by a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja.

The court on Tuesday, September 11, directed the body to produce Adeleke’s result within 10 days due to the controversy surrounding his O'level result.
