- The NYSC said it will not take it lightly with any individual or group of persons who attempts to intimidate or harm any corps member in the name of politics

Politicians and their supporters have been warned by the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), not to attack corps members who will be used for the Osun gubernatorial election scheduled for Saturday, September 22.

The warning was given by the NYSC coordinator in Osun state, Emmanuel Attah, on Monday, September 17, in Ede, Punch reports.

NAIJ.com gathers that Attah, while attending the closing ceremony of the orientation course for 2018 Batch B corps members deployed in the state, stated that the federal government placed much value on the lives and wellbeing of all corps members.

He said the government would not allow anybody who attacked any of the youths to go free without facing the full wrath of the law.

Attah said the election was one of the duties of the NYSC members to the nation and that they were prepared to carry it out.

He stated: “NYSC will not take it lightly with any individual or group of persons who attempts to intimidate or harm any of our corps members in the name of politics. They are our children and we must protect them.

“My advice to politicians is to stay away from our corps members because they will not listen to them. They will not demand or take bribe from anyone and we have instructed them to report any attempt to compromise them to security agencies.”
