Nancy L. Crampton Brophy has proven that not all eerie stories are meant to just stay within the confines of a book. The woman who comes from Oregon in USA was recently arrested for murdering her husband who was a chef teaching at the Oregon Culinary Institute in Portland.
The Oregonian who is a novelist was reputably known for her published essay How to Murder Your Husband. In a strange turn of event, on Saturday, June 2, her 63-year-old husband Daniel Brophy who is a marine biologist and mushroom expert was shot dead within the premises of the institute where he has been teaching since 2006.
Nancy who is 68 years old has been nabbed as a prime suspect in the murder of her husband. The woman who is the author of several romance suspense novels like The Wrong Cop, The Wrong Husband, The Wrong Seal, The Wrong Lover, The Wrong Hero and Hell on the Heart has also been convicted for reportedly owning unlawfully using a firearm.

Her renowned essay which she published on a Wordpress website within the period of November 2011 vividly talked about the ways to kill male partners without getting suspected by the police is one of the evidences that clearly back up the police’s claim that she put a gun to her husband’s head.
According to Daily Mail, the article was not readily available to the general public as the privacy setting of the post was altered in a way that gave only the author the right to grant anyone viewership. However, the existence of the post was discovered by The Oregonian newspaper.
Later on, a couple of other news platforms took screenshots of her words and published them. In all truth, the words of Nancy within the essay were retrospective of a deep thinking about murdering husbands successfully.
She said: "As a romantic suspense writer, I spend a lot of time thinking about murder and, consequently, about police procedure,’ Crampton Brophy wrote in the November 4, 2011 blog post. After all, if the murder is supposed to set me free, I certainly don’t want to spend any time in jail."

Even more, Nancy had gone on to explain the reasons why a person would opt for murder rather than divorce or any such way of terminating a bad marriage. After this, she spiraled into the various possible ways of killing a spouse.
"Divorce is expensive, and do you really want to split your possessions? ‘Or if you married for money, aren’t you entitled to all of it? The drawback [sic] is the police aren’t stupid. They are looking at your first. So you have to be organized, ruthless, and very clever. Husbands have disappeared from cruise ships before. Why not yours?"
A day after her husband was professed dead, the author wrote a rather strange post on Facebook informing friends and fans about the death of husband and telling them not to call her for a few days as she was indisposed to receiving calls.
"I'm struggling to make sense of everything right now. While I appreciate all of your loving responses, I am overwhelmed. Please save phone calls for a few days until I can function."
