President Muhammadu Buhari has submitted his nomination and expression of interest forms to the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the national secretariat of the party in Abuja shortly after presiding over the federal executive council meeting on Wednesday, September 12.

It was reported earlier that President Buhari was expected at the APC national secretariat on Wednesday, September 12, to submit his nomination and expression of interest forms for the 2019 presidential election.

Security was beefed up ahead of the president's arrival at the national secretariat located at Blantyre stree, Wuse II, Abuja, Punch reports.

Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) and policemen from the Presidential Villa were on ground to secure the area.

NAIJ.com gathers that the form was brought for the president by a political group working for his re-election under the umbrella of Nigeria Consolidation Ambassador Network (NCAN).

Recall that President Buhari, on Tuesday, September 11, received the APC presidential expression of interest and nomination forms in a brief ceremony held at the State House, Abuja.

The nomination forms were presented to the president by NCAN, one of the president’s support groups.

NAIJ.com previously reported that following its gesture of buying expression of interest and nomination forms for President Muhammadu Buhari, the Nigeria Consolidation Ambassador Network (NCAN) said its action did not violate any law in the country.

This was stated by the group's national coordinator, Barrister Sanusi Musa, on Friday, September 7, while addressing journalists in Abuja.
