The British prime minister Theresa May has arrived at the State House to meet with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Vanguard reports that President Buhari has cancelled the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) to welcome his August visitor.
NAIJ.com gathered that May arrived exactly 1pm and was ushered in by the military pipers of the Guard Brigade Band where President Buhari officially welcomed her.
Afterwards, she went into closed door meeting with Presidentt Buhari at the New Banquet Hall of the State House.

May’s visit to Nigeria is part of her tour of some Africa countries. On ground to receive her apart from the President were serving ministers led by the minister of foreign affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, the Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, Secretary to the Government of the Federal (SGF), Boss Mustapha.

NAIJ.com had earlier reported that security was beefed up ahead of the British prime minister, Theresa May’s visit to Nigeria on Wednesday, August 29.
It was gathered that that security agencies including the police, the Nigeria Civil Defence and Security Corps (NCDSC) and the Nigerian Army are at strategic locations within the precincts of the airport.
An official of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) told NAN that the facility has been secured with the deployment of the security personnel for May’s arrival.
May is on a trade mission in an attempt to bolster Britain’s post-Brexit fortunes. This is her first visit to Africa since she became Prime Minister in 2016.
She will be accompanied by a 30-man business delegation as part of her efforts to “deepen and strengthen” partnerships around the world as the UK prepares to leave the European Union (EU) next year.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had previously reported that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) urged British prime minister, Theresa May, to demand free, fair and credible elections in Nigeria in 2019, during her scheduled visit to the country.
The party made the call in a statement issued by its national publicity secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, on Tuesday in Abuja.
It said that the advice was important as there were apprehensions across Nigeria on the elections following actions, utterances “and body language’’ of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
