The Hausa community in Ondo state has called on Nigerians to embrace the culture of peaceful coexistence among themselves.
NAN reports that Alhaji Aminu Jubril, the secretary of the community, made the call while speaking with newsmen after the Eid-el-Kabir prayers in Akure.
NAIJ.com gathers that he said there was a divine reason for the amalgamation that brought Nigeria into existence in 1914.

He said: ”No tribe can do it alone, we need the support of Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba as well as other tribes to move our country to greater heights in the comity of nations. There is no need for any tribe to secede because united we stand, divided we fall.
“Therefore, we should shun tribalism and hate speech that can cause acrimony and crises most especially as we are approaching the general elections."
The secretary, who recalled that the Sallah festival was to remind Muslim faithful that true sacrifice and trust in God were the weapons needed to please God. He enjoined Christians and Muslims to move closer to God.
Another community leader, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi, commended the state government for initiating policies to promote peace in the state.
Abdulahi, who thanked God for His mercy to witness this year’s Sallah, pledged that the Hausa would continue to promote unity and peace in the state.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously reported that President Muhammadu Buhari felicitated with all Nigerians, particularly the Muslim faithful, as they celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Kabir.
In his Sallah message posted on his official Twitter account (@MBuhari) on Tuesday, August 21, the president called on Nigerians to rise above personal interests and promote harmony in the nation.
