- The shop owners reportedly shout “Sai Buhari” to attract potential Nigerian customers
- Some of the businessmen reportedly said they use the name to attract patronage from Nigerian pilgrims because they have observed that Nigerians have so much love for President Buhari
Some shop owners in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are allegedly using President Muhammadu Buhari’s name as a business tactic to attract Nigerian pilgrims customers to their shops, the APC United Kingdom alleges.
In a report on its Facebook page, the United Kingdom chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) said there is the possibility of Saudi shop owners finding it difficult to attract foreign customers to their shops due to the language barrier.
It, however, said that some of the shop owners make their business establishments to stand out from the rest because they can speak languages like Hausa and English to attract Nigerians and other customers from English speaking countries.

Another strategy used by the Saudi businessmen, according to APC UK, is to observe what the foreigners, especially Nigerians, love and respect back home and use such to get patronage.
President Buhari’s name, in this case, is allegedly being used for this strategy as the APC UK claimed that as owners of Jallabiya shops (Long Arabian gown) in Medina sighted Nigerian pilgrims, they shouted “Sai Buhari” to attract them.
“Sai Buhari”, it said, has become a business tactic used by some shop owners to attract patronage from Nigerian pilgrims.
“Sai Buhari” appellation is known to be solely reserved for President Buhari by his fawning supporters.
The APC UK added that the 2018 Hajj media team from Kaduna state spoke with some of the traders in Medina to find out why they use President Buhari’s name to attract patronage.
Two of the traders interviewed, Muhammad and Afnan, Bengalese who own a Jallabiya shop in Medina, reportedly said they use President Buhari’s name to attract patronage from Nigerian pilgrims because, over the years, they observed that Nigerians have so much love and respect for President Buhari.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had previously reported that the presidency denied a widely published report indicating that President Buhari would be extending his 10-day working leave which he is currently observing in London.
The presidency, through its various Twitter handles, insisted that the piece of information was fake and drawn from past events.
