Turkish Super Lig club Bursaspor are set to face major competition from Spain in the race to sign Chelsea defender Kenneth Omeruo.

The Green Crocodiles have been closely linked with a move for the Super Eagles center-back over the past month and Bursaspor vice-president has confirmed the clubs interest in Omeruo.

Meanwhile, the Spanish new media outlet AS has stated that the La Liga club Leganes are leading the race to sign 24-year-old this summer.

AS claim the Spanish club are requesting to sign the defender on a season-long loan deal.

Omeruo is expected to leave Stamford Bridge before the transfer window in Europe slams shut at the end of the month.

Omeruo joined Chelsea back in 2012 but is yet to make a first-team appearance for the west London club.

He has spent the last three seasons in the Turkish Super Lig at Kasimpasa and Alanyaspor.
