A presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ahmed Makarfi, has advised Nigerians to receive cash gifts from rich politicians but vote for credible candidates that are trustworthy, loyal and committed to the ideals of the party.

Makarfi, who once served as a former governor of Kaduna, made the statement in Lokoja when he met leaders and stakeholders of the PDP in Kogi state to solicit their support for his presidential aspiration, PR Nigeria reports.

The PDP chieftain said the recent calls for the restructuring in the country arose because the institutions of government have been corrupted.

He complained that there is lopsidedness in government appointments. He insisted that there is the need for national cohesiveness.

Meanwhile, a former governor of Abia state, Orji Uzor Kalu, has stated that the All Progressive Congress (APC) would put an end to what he described as the rigging jamboree of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and take over the leadership of the state.

He made the comment while addressing zonal and ward executives of the Donatus Nwankpa faction of the party in his Igbere home, over the weekend, Vanguard reports.

NAIJ.com gathers that the former governor said the APC would sack the PDP from the governorship house next year and “free Abia people from bondage and lies being fed them.”

He said that instead of delivering the dividends of democracy by providing amenities that would uplift the lives of the citizens, the PDP is thriving in propaganda and lies.

He urged APC members in the state to remain steadfast in their support for President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration and not get intimidated by the PDP.
