Super Eagles superstar Ahmed Musa is thankful to Nigerians who took time to vote for his goal which was nominated for the 2018 FIFA World Cup best goal of the tournament.
The 25-year-old scored two superb goals for the three time African champions against Iceland in their second Group D encounter at the Volgograd Arena in June.
However, the goal didn't gather enough votes to win the prestigious award as it finished 8th on the ranking table.
Benjamin Pavard's stunning strike against Argentina was eventually voted the best goal of Russia 2018 - beating Lionel Messi, Ricardo Quaresma and a few others to the prize.

Musa in his comment said that the goals show the quality of Nigerian players on the world stage - saying it was not just about him.
"I just want to thank you all for voting," Musa said on his official Instagran handle.
"This goal is bigger than me it has shown the world that Nigeria has quality on the world stage and we look to improve in the future.

Having scored twice in the recently concluded World Cup finals, Musa is Nigeria's highest goal scorer at the World Cup.
While he is the third highest African goal scorer at the World Cup with four goals - one behind Cameroon's Roger Miller (5) and two short of Asamoah Gyan's six-goal record.

The Nigerian made his intentions known when the three-time African champions camped in the European country for the final lap of their preparations for this summer’s FIFA World Cup staging in Russia from June 14 to July 15 this year.
They also got beaten 1-0 by Czech Republic in their last build up game on Wednesday, June 6, in a bid to fine tune their strategies for the championship.
