The Nigerian Senate on Tuesday, July 24, adjourned it’s plenary for two months. The adjournment is coming after the recent attacks on the leadership of the upper chamber.
Senate president Bukola Saraki made the announcement during the upper chamber's plenary session.
NAIJ.com gathered that the lawmakers are to reconvene on Tuesday, September 25. The adjournment is part of the prayers of a motion on the siege on Saraki and his deputy, Ike Ekweremadu.

The senators are to go on a 30 minutes break first to enable them adopt the votes and proceedings of the day.
In a previous report by NAIJ.com, Senate President Bukola Saraki presided over the Senate after he reportedly escaped from police blockage of his residence in Abuja.
Saraki had been on the National Assembly Complex premises long before the plenary began.

There was palpable tension at the National Assembly as Senate president Bukola Saraki, drove himself into the National Assembly complex in a private vehicle.
