- The Blues clinch their sixth Premier League title in the 2016-17 season under former manager Antonion Conte who brought the team back to the top after their shambolic performance in the previous season in all competition and also qualify them for Champions League football

Chelsea were crowned Premier League champions in the 2016-17 season with 93 points from 38 matches.

It was a superb come back for the Blues having finished 10 on the log the previous season.

According to stats from Opta Joe, the Stamford Bridge outfit spent a total of 184 days at the summit of the league table after which they became champions of England.

Manchester City had their chance but slipped up at some point after staying up the EPL table for 75 days.

Liverpool (14), Man Utd (6), Arsenal (2) and Hull City (1) were also privileged to taste leadership of the league but only lasted for few days.

August 2016

Coach Antonio Conte got his reign at the Stamford Bridge off to a flying start - winning all three matches in August 2016.

The Blues picked all nine points in their first three games of the season and finished atop of the EPL log at the end of the first month of the season.

They beat London rivals West Ham United 2-1 in their opening game of the season, after which they spanked Burnley 3-0 and then settled their battle against Norwich City with just one goal.

September 2016

The Stamford Bridge outfit picked just one point in possible nine points available - as they drew 2-2 draw against Swansea City in their first topflight game of the month.

Conte's men suffered their first defeat of the season after losing 2-1 to Liverpool in front of their home fans in mid September.

Arsenal handed them their second successive defeat in their 3-0 win over the Blues at the Emirates Stadium on 24 September as they finished 8th on the table with 10 points after six matches at the end of the second month.

October 2016

Having suffered back to back defeats to the Gunners and Liverpool , the Blues manager switched to 3-4-3 formation and won all their four matches in October.

And the tactical change he made got his side back to winning ways as they beat Hull City 2-0 on October 1, and 14 days later, Chelsea recorded an impressive 3-0 victory over the then reigning champions Leicester.

The west London club demolished Manchester United 4-0 when both sides met in the league at the Bridge and wrapped up the month with a Southampton at St Mary's Stadium seven days later, and moved to 4th position on the log with 22 points.

November 2016

Chelsea moved to the summit of the league table for the first time that season after another impressive performance.

They pummeled Everton 5-0 earlier in the month after which their 1-0 win over Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium and a slim 2-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur ensured they maintained a 100% win record in that month.

December 2016

Chelsea consolidated their 1st position in December following their victories over Manchester City (3-1), West Bromwich Albion (1-0), Sunderland (1-0), Crystal Palace (1–0), Bournemouth (3-0) and Stoke City (4-2).

Chelsea maintained their leadership position at the summit of the Premier League table at the end of the 12th month of 2016 with 49 points after 19 matches.

The Blues won all their matches in the month under review claiming all 18 points available to remain number on the log as they headed into the new year.

They handed Manchester City their first defeat of the season in a game that ended 3-1, and went ahead to beat West Bromwich Albion 1-0.

Conte's men beat Sunderland 1-0, Crystal Palace 1-0, Bournemouth 3-0 and a 4-2 victory at the Stamford Bridge over Stoke City on the last day of the year to wrap up the year on a high.

January 2017

Tottenham Hotspur ended Chelsea's 13 match unbeaten run after handing the Blues a 2-0 defeat at While Hart Lane on January 4.

However, Antonio Conte's men returned to winning ways with a 3-0 victory over defending champions Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.

On January 22nd, Diego Costa and Gary Cahill ensured the Stamford Bridge outfit stretched their winning ways to two games out of three in the first month of 2017, and were held to 1-1 draw against Liverpool at Anfield on the 31st to finish atop of the table.

February 2017

Chelsea were unmoved at the summit of the table with 67 points from 28 matches after beating Arsenal 3-1 in the second leg of their Premier League encounter.

March 2017

They played just two Premier League games in March and they won both matches with the same scoreline.

West Ham United 1-2 Chelsea

Stoke City 1-2 Chelsea as both victories were recorded on the road while they maintain their leadership on the table.

April 2017

Chelsea lost 1-2 to Crystal Palace on April 1, and bounced back with a 2-1 victory over Manchester City four days later.

They beat Bournemouth 3-1 at Dean Court on April 8 but suffered a 2-0 defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford in a revenge of their first meeting of the season.

After which they defeated Southampton 4-2 at Stamford Bridge, and Everton 3-0 at the Goodison Park on the 25th and 30th of April respectively.

May 2017
