- The United States, Canada, and Mexico will be hosting the 2026 edition of the tournament
FIFA president Gianni Infantino has announced that the 2022 World Cup in Qatar will take place from November 21st to December 18th.
This will be the first time in the history football's biggest showpiece will be changed from a summer date toward the end of the year winter.
Previous World Cups that have been play hosted by nations in the past were conducted during the June and July period of the year.

With the new development, football associations will have to adjust their calendars for their respective domestic leagues which usually kicks off between August and September and end in May.
The Middle East nation were handed hosting rights back in 2014 and considering the intense heat in the country during the June-July period, the competition have been moved to November-December.

During this end of the year period, Qatari weather averages around 20 degrees Celsius in November which will be friendly to visitors.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had earlier reported that FIFA had given the hosting rights of the 2026 World Cup to the United States, Mexico and Canada.
The three neighbouring countries were considered to host the tournament ahead of North African country, Morocco.
