Read Buhari's touching congratulatory message to Pastor Folu Adeboye on her 70th birthday

Praising the wife of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG)'s general overseer, Pastor Folu Adeboye on her 70th birthday, President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday, July 13, said that the cleric's achievement transcends mere pulpit preaching and are evident in real, spiritual services to God.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday, July 13, alongside members of Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) all and other faithful as well as well-wishers to celebrate wife of the church’s general overseer, Pastor Folu Adeboye, on her 70th birthday, Punch reports.

Through his special adviser on media and publicity, Femi Adesina, the president in a statement said expressed his joy with the family and friends of the Adeboyes for God's grace of service on their lives.

The president said that the grace was evident in preaching and living the truth of the gospel, counselling the young and old, and providing spiritual relief and comfort for the weak and sorrowful.

The statement read: “As Pastor (Folu) Adeboye, who is better known as ‘Mummy GO,’ attains the landmark age, the President believes her achievements surpass teaching and preaching on the pulpit to include living out the practical love of God, and encouraging many on the virtues of humility, knowledge, and hard work.

“President Buhari affirms that Nigeria’s greatness today among the comity of nations derives largely from the prayers and teachings of mothers like Pastor Folu who regularly seek the face of God on behalf of the country and its citizens, and persistently show that real success comes from adding value and bringing joy to others.

“As ‘Mummy GO’ counts her blessings, the President prays that the Almighty God will yet add to her years, and grant her good health and strength to keep living a life of service to God and humanity.”

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com reported that Pastor E.A Adeboye had certainly had an interesting life experience from growing up in a humble Christian home to becoming one of the most powerful men of God in Nigeria.

Born on March 2, 1942 in Ifewara, Osun state into a poor family, he lacked certain privileges but that did not stop him from pursuing his life goals as he completed his education and became a lecturer. He eventually went on to became the general overseer of Redeemed Christian Church of God in 1981.
