Daily Trust reports that while announcing his official return to the PDP, which he belonged before joining the APC, Idris said his latest action was due to his disenchantment with the way the ruling party was handled in both the state and the centre.
“I have come to declare to my people that I'm back to the PDP with all my supporters. I want to declare that my head, neck and soul is for the PDP,” he said.
To prove he had, indeed left the APC, Idris burnt a bunch of brooms, the symbol of the ruling APC.
He was, thereafter issued a PDP membership card by the chairman of the party in Omala local government area, Jeremiah Adaji.
He said he was optimistic that the PDP would emerge victorious in Kogi state in the forthcoming elections.
On his part, Adaji said the return of Idris to the PDP is of immense benefit.
