Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, Dele Alli is a major doubt for England’s Three Lions’ Sunday’s fixture against Panama after suffering a thigh injury in Sunday’s 2-1 victory over Tunisia.

The 22-year-old hardworking midfielder cropped the injury during the first stanza and close to being substituted by Manchester City’s Fabian Delph before the 45 minutes mark, but managed to hold on.

However, in the closing moments’ of the game, the Nigerian-born player showed signs of the injury and was later substituted deep in the second stanza.

On his part, Alli allayed injury fears later on Monday night, saying: “Hopefully I am okay.”

Reacting on the injury concern, Three Lions’ boss, Garry Southgate said: “We had to keep monitoring Dele. He was feeling a bit of an issue just before half-time, but felt he could carry on.

“The runs he was making was still causing problems. He had a half chance from Jordan Henderson’s pass, but we had good options on the bench.

“The freshness of Marcus Rashford and Ruben Loftus-Cheek would bring energy and a different threat to the one we’d posed.

“They had a good impact on the game. So did the four forwards who started the game. Their movement and runs and interchanges were a real problem. A lot of things to be pleased with.”
