Ahead of the forthcoming 2019 general elections, Senate president, Bukola Saraki, on Monday, May 28, warned that the conduct of the poll must not be less credible than the one conducted in 2015, The Punch reports.
NAIJ.com gathered that the Senate president in a goodwill message delivered at the 2018 Democracy Day Lecture held in Abuja, warned Nigerians against taking the nation’s democracy for granted.
On his part, the speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, described the nation’s democracy as very fragile.

He said Nigerians should be vigilant to ensure that democracy survived.
Prof. Attahiru Jega, the former chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), is delivering the lecture titled “Peace building and good governance for sustainable development in Nigeria.”
President Muhammadu Buhari is leading other top government officials to the event.

Orubebe to the event that is panned to hold on Tuesday, May 29 It was learnt that Orubebe had during the release of the result of the 2015 presidential election attempted to disrupt the process.
Buhari said organisers should have invited him to come and listen to the lecture delivered by the then chairman of INEC.
