Manchester United and Liverpool are arguably two of the most successful clubs in England with both sides sharing 38 Premier League titles between themselves.
The two outfits are also considered the biggest enemies as far as the English club football is concerned with their dominance in the competitions across the UK.
But the Red Devils seem to have a more commanding respect from their arch rival, as they have won 20 EPL titles with 12 FA Cups in their history.
While the Anfield side have won the most prestigious title, EPL 18 times – two lesser than United with seven FA Cups.

However, the Reds have an edge over United in Europe, as they have won five Champions League titles as against three for the Old Trafford side since the competition began in 1956.
And they could equally increase their tally to six if they beat Real Madrid in the final of the 2018 edition in Kiev on May 26, 2018.
They (Liverpool) have also won the Europa League on three occasions as against United, who have won just once – in 2017 after their 2-1 victory over Ajax.
Meanwhile, the two teams seem to have lost their dominance in English football as Manchester United last won the EPL title in 2013, while Liverpool haven’t lifted the cup since their last triumph in 1990.

Taking a look at their results in the last ten encounters in all competitions, it is safe to say that Manchester United have been excellent over Liverpool.
The Red Devils have won five of their last ten meetings with the Reds winning just once and the remaining four ending in stalemates.
United are one of the five clubs to have beaten Liverpool this season as Jose Mourinho’s men successfully claimed four points in their two legged affair in the topflight this season.
And they have managed to avoid defeat in their last eight meetings in the English topflight since the 2014-15 league season, except for their Europa League clash, where the Reds claimed a 3-1 victory over their arch rivals in the 2015-16 season.

While Liverpool have gone trophyless in all competition in over a decade, United claimed their first Europa League title last year, and they also won the EFL Cup in the process.
However, both sides stand a chance to end their season with silverware, as Liverpool face Real Madrid in the final of this year’s UEFA Champions League later this month in Ukraine.
While Manchester United battle Chelsea in the final of the longest cup competition in England in a bid to win the FA Cup on May 19.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com reported that Manchester United defeated Liverpool 2-1 in the second leg of their Premier League encounter at Old Trafford.
With Marcus Rashford scoring a brace in that match to ensure the Red Devils overpower their bitter rivals and claim maximum points in that fixture.
However, both sides are in contention to qualify for Champions League next season should the EPL table end the way it is - United are second on the log while Liverpool are fourth with one match to wrap up the season.
