NAIJ.com gathered that the Atiku Renaissance chided the governor for saying the former president's return to the Peoples Democratic (PDP) was an exercise in futility.
The group who is working for Atiku's emergence as president in 2019, said in a statement signed by its coordinator and a former member
In a statement signed by the group's coordinator and a former member of the Bayelsa state House of Assembly, Hon Azibola Omekwe, described Masari's comment as unfortunate, Leadership reports.
The statement read: “The statement credited to Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina state that His Excellency Atiku Abubakar’s rejoining of the PDP is futile is laughable. It is unfortunate how Governor Aminu Masari is consciously bereft of the reality.
“Rather, it was Atiku’s joining of APC that was actually an exercise in futility. His return home to PDP is vision in futurity.
“It is sad to note that Governor Masari is not aware that he is governing a state which Atiku Abubakar was one of the political foundation builders, as Katsina state is an ancestral home of Atiku’s political journey."
The group said Masari is only a beneficiary of the pains of the likes of Atiku Abubakar in Katsina state without knowing.
The statement read: "Masari can best be qualified as a geek to have claimed that the APC allocated 65 percent of its political appointments to the youth. It will be recalled that Atiku’s aversion to APC’s apathy to the youths topped his press release that gained followership when he returned home to the PDP. It is unfortunate how Masari is shying away from understanding the age bracket of the youths where it is clear that the APC-led government is a geriatric vehicle.
“Empirical findings have shown that Katsina people are suffering double what other Nigerians suffer under the APC-led administration of Governor Aminu Masari, as they complain of the state’s poor performance ranking on governance in its history.
“The sensationalist and sycophant in the person of governor Aminu Masari is fast becoming a widespread phenomenon over the Nigerian political terrain as it is the sobriquet of the APC system, and which needs to be addressed.
"The likes of governor Aminu Masari need be subjected to refresher courses on good governance and how to govern a state and a people instead of embarking on a fruitless voyage like this.
“Be it known to governor Masari that but for the regrettable PDP-led alliance with APC, Buhari has never won Katsina in all his bids. There is no cause now for Masari to develop uncontrollable mastitis because if Atiku declares for the presidency, as usual, Katsina state is painlessly reserved for him"

“Governor Masari fears must be coming from his knowledge that 10,000 Katsina APC members are already on the verge of decamping to PDP. But it is beyond Masari now as it is a reality and the numbers as at now have grown beyond that. Governor Aminu Masari need not sweat over what he cannot handle."
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously reported that Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina state described the recent defection of former vice president, Atiku Abubakar, as an exercise in futility.
He said the defection of the former vice president would not in anyway affect the electoral success of the ruling APC, stressing that Atiku had just answered his popular name.
