House of Reps member abandons vehicle for bicycle over fuel scarcity (photos)

House of Representatives member, Loveth Idisi was spotted riding a bicycle amidst fuel scarcity in the nation.

According to a Facebook user, Sameul Meyiwa Khalil, the lawmaker, Loveth Idisi, representing Ethiope federal constituency in Delta state, allegedly abandoned his vehicle for a bicycle after he was unable to get fuel.

While some Nigerians have commended this as act that shows the down to earth side of the lawmaker, others have condemned this act, referring to it as a political gimmick.

Recall that several other political leaders have reacted to the current fuel scarcity which has been blamed on marketers allegedly hoarding fuel.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo was on Lagos street on Christmas eve to inspect fuel stations and appeal to frustrated Nigerians on the queue that a solution would soon be found to the scarcity.

The vice president reportedly stopped at Oando Petrol Station at Elegushi where he engaged with Nigerians queuing for fuel.

After that, Osinbajo headed to Heyden Petroleum at VGC. The vice president was out to get insights on the citizens' experience during the scarcity.
