Senator Ayo Arise and his driver, who were kidnapped on Sunday, December 3, have been released by their abductor after spending five days in captivity.
Arise, who was released on Friday morning by his abductors at an undisclosed location in Ijumu local government area of Kogi State and left to find his way.

Arise was reportedly released after paying N20million ransom.
The senator's family, reportedly paid the sum of twenty million naira to his abductors to secure his release and that of his driver, The Sun reported.

The senator found his way home from where the kidnappers dropped him and eventually reached his hometown around 4 pm on Friday, December 8.
Recall that NAIJ.com previously reported that the senator was abducted on his way to Abuja from Akure, and his abductors demanded a ransom of N80million.
Arise was elected to the National Senate for the Ekiti North constituency in 2007 and was appointed to committees on local and foreign debts, banking, insurance and other financial institutions.
