In a statement released on Wednesday, December 6, Kurfi said the action of the finance minister is capable of casting doubt in the minds of many Nigerians in the on going anti-corruption war.
He said fact available in the public domain suggests that Gwarzo's suspension was done to avert forensic audit of Oando Plc.
Kurfi said: "We have to build confidence on investors by proving that our resolve to reposition the economy is not mere fluke.
Munir Gwarzo has demonstrated exemplary leadership as the director general of the Securities and Exchange Commission. He is a trusted helmsman that has earned the respect of stakeholders in the Nigerian capital market operations," Kurfi said.

He said: “We condemn in strongest terms the recent suspension of the Director-General of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Dr. Munir Gwarzo, by the Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun."
