Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto state has urged politician to stop talking about the 2019 elections, Daily Trust reports.
The governor made his comments during a chat with journalists in his state.

NAIJ.com gathers that Tambuwal stated that such talks were distractive and unhelpful to all office holders.
The governor said that instead of talking about the 2019 elections, political office holders should talk about governance.
He stated: “By the time you raise issues about 2019 in 2017, you are distracting the entire polity. Discuss 2019 when the election season is upon us; but for now, let us discuss governance issues.
“We should not be disengaged from governance mood to politics mood.”
Governor Tambuwal assured his citizens that he was committed to good governance, and also lauded President Muhammadu Buhari for recording ‘significant success’ in the fight against corruption and the insurgency in the North-east.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously reported that permutations have started trickling in from political analysts and observers about the upcoming 2019 presidential election; and an analyst, Fola Ojo, listed top politicians who are desirous to occupy the exalted position President Muhammadu Buahri occupies today.
He listed ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Senator Rabiu Kwakwanso, and Governor Aminu Tambuwal as being among those desiring to become president in 2019.
