What is Izal?

Izal is a germicide used to kill germs which are found on surfaces like floor tiles, bathroom, kitchen, restaurants etc.

Izal and other disinfectants make our immediate environment safe. It is used in hospitals, clinics, schools, offices and can also be used at home.

How to make Izal in Nigeria?

Making of Izal is very economical as it does not cost much to buy the chemicals. You do not need to have a degree or previous experience as it is quite easy to make. Follow the step-by-step instruction and become an entrepreneur in your own right. The chemicals are available at any chemical store and they are well known. It is advisable to get them from trusted stores so that you can have the best mixture.

Izal can be used on surfaces

Needed chemicals:

  1. Texapon
  2. Izal concentrate
  3. Izal scent
  4. Booster
  5. Carbolic acid
  6. Thickener
  7. Lysol
  8. Pine Oil
  9. Phenol

To make 15 liters of izal you need ¼ liters of Texapon, Izal Concentrate, Izal cent, booster, Carbolic Acid, Phenol, Lysol and ½ litres of Thickener.

How to prepare 15 liters of Izal

Before mixing, get some gloves and a nose mask as inhaling some of the chemicals might be hazardous.

  • First get a bowl or bucket that takes 15liters.
  • Add the phenol.
  • Then add the texapon.
  • Stir the mixture until is properly dissolved to avoid lumps.
  • Add the pine oil, and keep on stirring.
  • Followed by the Izal concentrate.
  • Add the Izal scent.
  • Then add the booster, continue to stir as you add a new chemical.
  • Add Lysol.
  • Add the carbolic acid.
  • Then add the thickener.
  • Note the color change, and then finally add water.
  • Keep on stirring to avoid lumps.
  • The next step is to sieve the mixture. This is done in order to remove whatever particles that refused to dissolve.
  • Package in your desired containers and your Izal is ready!
