- A Senior Advocate of Nigeria Mike Ahamba stated that indigenes of various ethnicities now have their own agendas, bearing various names, but similar to ‘Biafra’
- He stressed that Igbos are Nigerians, and they cannot leave the country for anything or anyone
- Ahamba noted that the IPOB sit-at-home order was only successful because it was sold as a day to honor the dead
Mike Ahamba, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) has said that the agitation for Biafra has acquired a new meaning which goes beyond the agitation by south-easterners for a new state.
According to reports, Ahamba stated that the new meaning of Biafra reflects, “protest against imbalance in Nigeria”.
The senior advocate made his comments in Owerri, the Imo state capital, as he addressed the issue of the various agitations in the country.
He stated: “The word Biafra is no longer for secessionists or those who want to secede, it is now a word for protest against the imbalance in Nigeria.
“Because we have Biafra in the Middle Belt, South-South, South-West, North-East, among others, they all have their own name.
“They are those who think that they are not well accommodated in this country. To that extent, I agree with Biafra.”
However, Ahamba stressed vehemently, that Igbos would not leave Nigeria.
He stated: “To the extent of making me leave Nigeria, I do not agree, I am not leaving this country for anybody because I have invested in it.
“There is nobody who can force me out of this country because I have invested so much. Whatsoever the problem, we shall discuss it, all of us as Nigerians.
“Let me tell you why the sit-at-home order was successful, they put one emotional point in it, honoring the dead, and many stayed at home to honor the dead in the Biafra/Nigeria civil war."

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously reported that Emmanuel Chukwudi, the general overseer of the King of Kings Deliverance Ministry, stated that God revealed to him that before Biafra can be actualized, Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), needs to be exposed to some spiritual secrets.
The cleric made his comments while addressing his congregation in Ebonyi state.
Chukwudi claimed he was directed by God to deliver the secrets directly to Kanu, and asked the IPOB leader to get in touch with him personally.
